Mitsubishi triton Tire Review Highlights
Abysmal.
It says all terrain, it is around town only. I got two slow leaks in 15,000kms, fortunately we were left stranded. On an Australian delivered 4WD vehicle it is totally unacceptable to fit a tire that can leave you stranded. They will puncture, not they may puncture, they will. As such I can’t understand how in good conscience they can be sold in our market. If you have this tire you should immediately change to something else. If you can’t afford to, buy a PLB/EPIRB.
On road performance was acceptable, off road performance was mediocre as best. Anything soft is a real challenge for this tire.
Spend the money and buy something decent, BFG KO3 is safe recommendation, Maxxis RAZR AT is my favourite tire for an Australian use case.

After having a set of KO and KO2s I was really excited for the Daddy of BFGs off-road range. They are better off-road, no doubt. I also got a slightly taller and wider tire which helpful off-road also. The dry weather performance was excellent, the comfort was excellent. When they wore they did develop quite a loud hum on tarmac.
But they were always diabolical in the wet, driving up a twisty mountain road resulted in languid oversteer at incredibly low speeds with very light throttle inputs. Outrageously fun but I was genuinely concerned to let anyone drive the car because it was so unsafe.
Then we went on a trip up Cape York with two other vehicles, one fitted with BFG KO2s and one with Maxxis RAZR AT811s. The Maxxis got up a muddy creek (Gunshot Creek) exit the BFG could not, lot’s of confounding factors but I felt the Maxxis AT outperformed the BFG MT in the mud. The KO2 was a very good tire also, but not as capable in the mud as either the MT or the Maxxis. I now run Maxxis RAZR ATs and they are brilliant, safe in the wet, quiet, comfortable, and they throw mud like no one’s business.
These are not appropriate tires for any use case other than 100% off-road.

Great tire, leagues ahead of the OEM figment tire on the ute. Didn’t compromise NVH, didn’t compromise wet grip, massively better off-road.
In soft sand it sat a little lower, there was slightly more resistance but you are able to apply power much more effectively and so you can drive through the resistance much more easily.
No flats! I had two flats in 15,000kms on the stock tires (off-road across/ around Australia trip) and never had a flat since.
Moved to the Maxxis RAZR AT811 which is a little better in mud, but cannot go wrong with a BFG AT KO2!

Driven 2000+km with them fitted on low mileage small 4x4 with upgraded suspension & they are close to being the worst Tires/Tires I have ever owned. And no matter what they say, the sidewalls on these are too soft and the tread footprint is too small and therefore it feels feels like you chassis is floating on jelly. Because of this you have to run them at between 40lb and 45lb ( cold) just to be able to get a stable responsive ride, but then (of course) you get an extremely rough ride. They are very quiet on new bitumen roads in the cities but buzz loudly on the older bitumen, and on gravel you have to yell to communicate with passengers they are so loud. They grip well in the wet & dry on straight and slight bends but under-steer on sharper bends, especially in the wet. I had a set of cheap Monsta Terrain Grippers before these and yes, they where noisy but at least they felt stable and where better in the wet. They had a much wider footprint on the road and the handling was so much better than these Duelers.

Great looking tires

Put coopers on a 2013 Triton, NEVER AGAIN. The under steer was dangerous. Swapped them for both Goodrich and toyo from other tritons and both of these were fine. With the coopers I could turn the steering wheel a quater turn and back while doing 60k, if I did that with the goodies or Tokyo’s I’d be in the trees.
Cooper tires didn’t help, the dealer took the tires back on goodwill.
NEVER will try coopers again

Original tires that came on my 2020 GLS Premium Triton. Have done 60,000km, which is excellent for me as they get a work out and I'm usually lucky to get 45,000km out of other tires I've had in the past.

Orig equip on my 2020 Triton 4x4 dual cab. 40,000 km in 12 mths on highway, gravel, slippery muddy farm tracks, outback rocky tracks and sandhills. I am not a driver that goes to the limit. 110 kmh on highway, 100 on backroad asphalt and drive to conditions elsewhere. So unintentionally i have given them a proper workout. They surprised me as i reckon I'll get to 60,000 km easy. I will go for a 265 70 R18 and maybe a AT 22 OR 25.

Very durable tires, I rode them for more than 65 thousand km, the driving was on all types of roads, asphalt and ballast, very good grip on dry and wet at the beginning, after 50 thousand km (with 30% life still useful) the grip in the wet was not so optimal (you could feel the difference with respect to the start of the tire) in the dry the grip remained the same as at the beginning, they are silent and have a good ride, I never suffered a puncture, as for durability superior to the Dunlop AT Grandtrek III 245 / 65R16 that my pick up brought, a very good option in durability and resistance to bad roads

Used these tires twice from 3 sets of 4 tires in last 7 years on my Mit Triton. Superb and reasonably priced.
