Mazda Mazda 3 MPS Luxury Tire Review Highlights
I’ve had these on my 2011 Mazda 3 MPS Luxury for just over 3 years and have done roughly **55,000 km** on them.
Even now, they still have usable life left. The only reason I’m replacing them is because the **inside shoulders are worn down close to the belts due to a bad alignment / rotation issue**. If that hadn’t happened, I genuinely think I would have seen **another 10,000 km** out of them.
For a car like mine, that’s impressive. It’s running around **215 kW**, which is above stock, on **factory 18-inch wheels and stock suspension**, so I expected it to chew through tires a lot faster than it did.
What impressed me most is that **even near the end of their life, they still grip extremely well**. Dry grip has stayed strong, wet grip has remained confidence-inspiring, and they still corner very well. They are starting to feel a little looser now as they’ve aged and worn down, but even in that condition they still put the power down far better than I expected.
I’ve run a range of premium tires on this car over the years, and honestly these are **probably the best all-round tires I’ve had on it**. Excellent grip, very predictable handling, surprisingly strong wear, and they held up far better than I expected on a tuned MPS.
The only downside is comfort — they’re not the quietest or softest tire — but for the balance of grip, handling, and longevity, I’d absolutely buy them again.
If Pirelli still made these and they were easy to get, I’d happily run another set.

Went from the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on my 2008 Mazda 3 MPS, the Goodyear's have much better road feedback, dry and wet grip is similar, though I'd give the edge to the Goodyear in the dry and the Michelin in the wet. I have also had the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, and the Goodyear feel righ in between a Super Sport and a PS4.
Also has a much better sidewall, very thick, so if you want to protect those rims, this is much better option.
It just feels much better than the Michelin, you feel the road more, and it feel like you have more control, excellent comfort and noise, and very good price point. Not as floaty and vague as the Michelin's.
If you're thinking between the two which to get, the Goodyear's 100%, haven't tested. wear yet, but apparently it's very good. So far great tire. Very impressed.

Came original with our 2010 Mazda 3 MPS Luxury (2.3l turbo). Have since put 45000km on them and it's now time to have them changed (should probably have changed them 3000km ago but they have still been running fairly well). Excellent handling around dry corners (confidence instilling). Could be better in the wet. All round good tire, I'd rate 8/10 for what you pay.
