Toyo T1R Reviews - Page 17

Given 47% while driving a Mercedes Benz c 220 cdi (255/40 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 85,000 spirited miles
Brought two new tires in mid November, now having to change them due to wear!! completly bald on the rears.
They look good but do not last long having only covered 8000 miles. I would not buys these again.

Not as good in the dry as almost bald P Zero Nero's and in the wet even worse. But still much better than Yoko Parada 2's
At least they give plenty of feel as they loose grip, nothing sudden.
I need some tires but will go for Uniroyles or Pirelli's But I think and just keep the Proxies to distroy on trackdays.

Given 85% while driving a MG MGF VVC (205/50 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 1,500 spirited miles
Just replaced the rear tires on my MGF with Toyo T1R's, (with Avon ZV5's being my second choice due to price). These tires have made a huge difference to grip. I drive on all sorts of roads and find the rear grip in the dry and wet is now amazing. I've also used these on snow and grip seems to be acceptable, let down by the other brand of tire I have on the front. Though I've not used the car on snow prior to the Toyo's so have no comparison.
All in all a Great tire.

Excellent dry grip and perfect line in the corners. Maximum brake performance. Very good in water but not perfect. Excellent for track acivities. Buy again? OF COURSE!

Given 63% while driving a MG ZR (205/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles
Good Tires, grip is fantastic in the dry and wet! They do NOT react well to snow however, especialy when they are well worn, very little grip then.

Only lasted 7500 miles on the front. I'm not an aggressive driver, but I do enjoy a spirited drive every now and again. Don't seem to react well to motorway miles either.

Given 81% while driving a Mercedes Benz E320 (215/45 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
Find these an excellent overall tire for a reasonably powerful RWD car, dry grip is good though not as precise as the F1 for feel or steering accuracy, they don't flat spot overnight.

Wet grip is very good, no wheelspins or slides at all since fitting, steering and handling give confidence.
I use winter tires so cannot comment on cold weather use.

Wear rate seems fair so far.

They have a downside, heavy road roar and the ride is hard, however the competent grip especially in the wet makes up for that.

I would buy these again.

After having Toyo T1S i said i would never buy Toyo again. But a friend said to have this and i found this to be a very good on the rear of a 350BHP car

Given 80% while driving a Toyota supra turbo (245/45 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 100 spirited miles
For the price a superb buy for the HIGHER performance vehicles. I have had most makes of performance tire and non can touch the T1R - admittedly I only get around 8k out of a set, but that says something for the grip. Always replace all four is the trick to superb grip, feedback and general stability. Those who say this tire is no good have absolutely no idea! That said it may depend on the car and the way it is set up, get it all right and these tires will provide endless fun.

Given 50% while driving a Suzuki swift sport (215/45 R17 W) on mostly town for 13,000 spirited miles
These tires are overrated simple as that, and they dont last very long, they do look nice however with the tread pattern and I know why these are still classed as budget cos they are poor.

Great sport tires, Wear out fast though.

Given 62% while driving a Ford Focus ST170 (215/45 R17) on track for 1,000 spirited miles
These tires tend to be to soft on the side walls and makes the car squirm under braking
In dry conditions on the track i found them not as good as the conti sports which had 12,000 miles behind them
As for the wet weather plenty of slide in them which i did not want
Wear rate of the T1r,s is ok in the fact that the car gets a lot of peddel
