Given 85% while driving a Toyota MK1 MR2 NA (185/60 R14) on a combination of roads for 1 spirited miles
I drive a 1988 Toyota Mr2, which is rear wheel drive and weighs as much as a Ford KA; this certainly doesn't do me any favours in wet-weather conditions. After aquaplaning sideways off a roundabout a ridiculously low speed, I decided that my previous tires, Maxxis, were nowhere near suitable for wet weather driving.

I decided on these, they're cheap enough and rated for all weather conditions. After giving them about two months of UK autumn driving (read: a mixed bag of frost, standing water and dry roads), I can very safely say that these tires really do out-perform their price bracket. I can quite happily take corners at twice the speed I was comfortable with on my old set, and wet weather grip is outstanding. I find it difficult to get any loss of grip when I'm actually trying to.

Dry grip is so-so, with very slight loos of traction during very sharp and long corners (ie, heading twice around a roundabout). Thankfully they're easy to feel through and give lots of warning, I've never lost complete traction on these - even on one of my 'fun' drives.

They have very decent aquaplaning resistance, and don't give me nearly as much of a shock when heading through standing water at high speed as my previous set. Obviously not advised to keep doing it, but they definitely weren't as difficult to control when hitting a pool of water on a national A-road.

I haven't driven them nearly enough to comment on how well they wear, but I've no complaints so far.

As for snow and ice, thankfully we haven't had any. My car is so light I probably wouldn't get any kind of success, but that is no fault of the tires. I would certainly feel comfortable with trying them in those conditions.

I can honestly state that these tires have made all the difference in turning my car from a wet-weather nightmare to a safe yet involving drive. I can't recommend them enough and will be very eager to get them on my next set of wheels, if at all possible (sadly I think these tires will actually outlive my car).

Given 96% while driving a Ford Mondeo (205/55 R16) on mostly country roads for 10,000 average miles
Bought two in late 2011, and later a further two, for our 2004 Mondeo estate 2.0 (130) TDCi

By far the best tires I've ever had. Superb grip in wet and snow. I'm about to drive 40 minutes each way to a get some put on our second car for this season, because of lack of local stock. They're worth the drive and I wouldn't bother trying something else.

Given 100% while driving a Saab Automobile 9 5 2.3 Turbo SE (215/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
I have recently fitted four on my Saab 9-5 SE. and the difference in driving quality is nothing short of, Expectional. I have to point out I was replacing four budget brand, two of Chinese origin, seven years old which had developed cracks between the treads, inspite of still with 5mm of tread on them. The front were of europeon origin, still with 4mm of tread(which I have saved)
I am based in North of Scotland and in past few weeks have been able to use them in wet, dry and frosty road surfaces, and so far I am very pleased and confident with handling; car and tires complimenting each other.
A foot note: I bought Saab at the start of this year and the non branded tires were fitted at the time of the purchase.

Given 80% while driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
Very good in the snow and ice. I drove it on a few cms of fresh snow with no problems at all - it was only me and 4x4 on the road at the time. Only when the snow was very thick was my progress hampered but I never got stuck.

I found the ride on my car was also slightly better on these compared to my summer Bridgestones and my car still accelerated and gripped almost as well. Also pretty good in dry and wet conditions.

An ideal tire for the British climate

Given 73% while driving a Mitsubishi lancer (195/60 R15) on a combination of roads for 4,000 average miles
I fitted these tires in October 2011, after the large volume of snow that we had last winter. The tires are sure footed and perform very well in both wet and dry conditions. Their performance in snow is good, giving much more confidence and grip than a summer tire. That being said, I still experienced some wheel spin and loss of traction in deeper snow (over 10cm's deep), especially when trying to pull away from a standstill. As an all Season Tire I would recommend them but will still keep my snow socks in the boot for deeper snow.

Given 90% while driving a Citroën berlingo (215/55 R16) on mostly country roads for 2,500 average miles
I bought four Quadraxer's a week before last Christmas, basically because they were the only winter tires I could get hold of at the time.
The Michelin Primacy's fitted to my Berlingo XTR were absolute rubbish in the snow and ice that we were all suffering with at the time,in fact the Michelin's were downright dangerous,no grip, poor steering and poor braking.
The moment I drove away from the tire dealer I noticed the diffrence, the car felt more sure footed and safer.
Throughout the following winter months they performed extremely well, and I had no problems at all, even in 8-10ins. of snow, they just gripped and bit in.

Although the Quadraxer's are an all season tire,I put the Michelin's back on for the summer,as they had plenty of life in them, but the Michelin's are much more noisier than the Quadraxer's.
I would buy these tires again and certainly reccomend the Quadraxer,I fitted all four, not just on the drive axle, which I think gives even better performance.

Given 80% while driving a Peugeot Partner combi (185/65 R15 T) on mostly motorways for 2,000 average miles
Unfortunately, I only had them on the car for a couple of thousand miles before selling the car recently, so cannot comment on their winter and snow credentials.

In autumunal weather - warm days, cool days, wet and dry, they performed very well for a compromise tire. Their strength was in the wet! They are able to evacuate so much water that it makes quite a racket with water hitting the wheel arch liner. Car is very planted. In the dry, they are fine, even if pushed.

When brand new, need to give them a couple of hundred miles to bed in. The handling to begin with feels woolly but they get better with miles. Take this into account when braking.

I will definately reconsider this tire in the future.

Given 90% while driving a Honda FRV (225/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
I replaced my standard Primacy tires on the front of my front wheel drive, and the difference was noticable immediately. The car simply felt more sure footed straight away. I have now covered about 2,000 miles with them, and could not be more pleased. Day to day driving is more involving. The tires give the impression of being a bit 'sticky' and in both wet and dry conditions are a vast improvement over the standard summer biased tires. I have yet to try them in snow or ice, but I have no doubt they will prove to be effective. I have not noticed any difference in braking distance, although my impression is that accelaration times may be down a bit, not that that bothers me. I will be replacing the rear tires with them before winter sets in.

Given 91% while driving a Volkswagen (215/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 14,000 spirited miles
Purchased a pair of these tires in December 2010 whilst in Scotland commuting between Girvan (Ayrshire) and Manchester.
Have since driven through various amounts of snow up to 3" deep, ice, slush, standing water, heavy rain and dry roads up till June 2011 when summer tires eventually fitted.
Have found them excellent in all conditions, giving increased confidence. On black ice I had the back tires loose grip but the Quadraxer tires stuck like glue!
On compressed snow I acheived a 1:6 hill re-start without problems.
Fuel consumption has been excellent throughout and tire wear is equally good. I was almost tempted to leave these on all year because of their performance in heavy rain/standing water, but they were slightly noisier than standard tires.
They will definitely go back on this winter.

Given 90% while driving a Volkswagen GTi Mk6 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
Golf GTI Mark VI, had these tires on my car from late November 2010 until March 2011. It did take a short while to acclimatise to the different 'characteristics' of the winter tires when first fitted.
Much better grip in snow, ice and slush than the factory fitted summer tires. I purchased these tires as premium brands(Michelin & other makes)were not available in my tire size.
I contacted Michelin for advice re obtaining their premium brand winter tires & the fitting of winter tires to my car given that the factory fitted tires were Michelin Primacy HP, they recomended the Quadraxer for winter use as the Primacy are in fact summer tires.
I have been very very pleased with the Quadraxa performance and grip during the winter months, especially in snow and ice. Will change over to the Quadraxer tires again late November for the winter.
Not sure re wear as too soon to tell, also not sure how many miles I covered during winter spell with the Quadraxers, I did make a number of journeys to the Scottish borders from Lancashire and did not get stuck!
