Fitted these to a 2000 POlo TDi. Makes the car feel like a small Mercedes, wafts over bumps and it generally very comfortable. Sadly the handling suffers very badly - if you like a sporty drive then do not buy these tires. It's like driving a big jelly!
But if you like a bit of comfort, then these are perfect.

I agree with a lot of the other comments here. Grip for accelerating and braking is generally good in wet and dry plus low road noise. I just replaced a set of bridgestone tires and the car immediately felt different. There isnt much feedback from the tires and I've found it lead to sudden oversteer when cornering agressivly. Definitely not the tire for a sporty driver, perfect for lots of motorway miles.

Have recently removed my Continental Sports contact2 tires and replaced with Goodyear efficient grip on the front and Goodyear NCT5 on the rear. Would have liked NCT5s all round but difficult to get any now.
The car is totally different - very quiet on road noise but sports grip gone. Not a problem for me but may be for the sporty driver!! Pleased with fuel consumption so far

i got a set of these tires with 5-6mm tread left. they were fitted to a mk4 vw golf gti and ive had the car lowered on coilover suspension.
the tires didnt combine with the uprated suspenion at all. these tires have soft sidewalls and are not made for 'sporty' driving. the car felt like it was on jelly. these tires are made for comfortable motorway driving, and decent fuel economy i would imagine.
so for me i wouldnt buy these tires again, as thats not the sort of driving i do. by reading reviews on this website i saw that toyo t1r tires seemed more suited to the sort of driving i do, and having fitted them i would recommend the toyos for a more sporty drive over these any day, the car reacts a lot quicker now with the toyos on.

I've had to endure 2 sets of these tires now on the front of a Vauxhall Zafira - Don't get the choice of tires as it's a LEX fleet vehicle. No grip in wet, just wheelspin everytime I pulled off. Lasted 13K miles per pair when a pair of Pirelli P zeros lasted me in excess of 20K miles so hardly a high mileage tire. Very little driving feedback, vibration at steering wheel which couldn't be balanced out.
As fitted to police fleets.... No wonder they never catch any criminals!!

I commute in excess of 30K miles per year, 85% on the M5. The rest being on A roads and country lanes.
Mostly it is myself, alternate weekend up to full load of kids/adults. On holiday fully loaded. Run tires at 32-33 psi (35 is a touch too hard)
The first pair of Continentals Contract 2(?140) (origal fitting) covered 17,585 miles. This I thought was not that good.Tried Mitchelins next that managed 21k miles.
Fitted first pair of Efficient grips in Jan 2010. ?140 fully fitted from Kwik Fit. Extremly impressed by tire wear, performance and generally handling. Fuel economy is between 10-11 Miles per litre.
Changed them 16/10/10 having done 24,200 miles. They had between 2 and 1.6mm left but were getting a bit twitchy on some road surfaces and wet performance was deterioating but still OK.
Manged to get the replacement pair for ?124 have checked on line price and then haggled with local independant dealer. New tyes have average tread depth of 8.5mm.
Must say highly impressed with them on the front. Will consider pair of Bridgestones to go on the back when the two non branded tires need replacement.

After 5000 km are still very comfort, with good grip. When i first fit them i had vibration after 140 km and needed to re-wear it. Without noise.
Good choice for "easy" driving.

Not a sports tire - noticeable if you've just switched from sports tires - but fine for normal to moderately brisk driving. Quieter and softer ride than a sports tire but lacks the precise on-rails feel when cornering harder than most people do, and tends to go into oversteer when a sports tire could be pushed further.
But most of miles are commuting so I opted for comfort and fuel economy this time. I like the way that when it breaks traction from a fast start it does it in a smooth controllable manner, not in great lurching hops like my previous Proxes did.
Comfort and noise levels are good. The main plus with EfficientGrip is supposed to be better fuel consumption. I measure MPG on every tank so I have a good picture. I am finding about 2-3% improved mileage compared with older sporty/non eco tires. This should add up to a reasonable amount of money over the life of the tires but it's too early to assess wear rate.
I would happily recommend EfficientGrip for everyday driving, not for speed demons.

After fitting 4 new tires the car vibrated badly between 100 - 130 kph, I returned to the fitter and the tires were re-checked for balance and found to be OK. I contacted the local importer in Israel and they sent a technician from over 150 kilometres away especially to check the car. He too found the car vibrated, and ordered a new set of tires for me, they were delivered next day to my supplier, and fitted. The car drives smoothly now. Now that what I call service!
