Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 Reviews - Page 24

Given 93% while driving a Audi A3 Sportback (225/45 R17 W) on mostly motorways for 1,000 spirited miles
I bought those tires cause I have seen the reviews... so far I am very satisfied especially for the comfort they provide. Progressiveness might become tricky... it feels sometimes that in steep turns or in high speed turns the tires have the tendency to become soapy and slippery... or in other words sometimes when driving at the limit I have the sensation that the tires are not solid down on the asphalt. But most of the times I am a normal driver so there is not such a problem. The tires are very good. Highly recommended for Audi A3 Sportback. I will trust them for ever!

Given 94% while driving a Alfa Romeo 1.9 JTD M (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 19,200 average miles
Previously had Pirelli pzero tires on my Alfa GT with 16 inch rims and not so much wall the handling was great but I worried about breaking the car over pot holes, even painted lines on the road could be felt and there was a massive tramline issue. I was thinking of changing my suspension. I changed to these tires they are more pricey but I read good reviews and the wear was supposed to be better so I gave them a try.

The car was immediately more comfortable and quieter, there was less feedback as a drawback but they really changed the drive of the car and the grip and feedback were still extremely good. The wear after nearly 20,000 miles I have 5mm left on the front, rears are looking great I drive quickly but try to keep it smooth, occasionally like to have a bit of fun on the windy a roads. I think this is good tire wear on a heavy diesel engined front wheel drive car. I've had budget tires which need to be changed after 20,000 miles. The car stops very well with these tires from motorway speeds to zero with no drama (had an accident right in front of me a week after getting them)

I would definitely recommend these tires on lower profile rims and will buy again, the extra cost is out weighed by the good wear and safety of having good tires.

Given 93% while driving a BMW 530 D Sport Touring (235/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
2002 BMW 530D, think these are great!
-Wet grip is almost same as dry, and this is astonishing.
-Not progressive, but very predictable and safe on the limit, maybe a little soft in hard corners, thus road feedback is good.
-Great dry and wet braking.
-Pretty quiet and durable.
-Would buy again if nothing else would come out even with more wet grip.

Given 100% while driving a Ford Focus RS (235/35 R19 W) on a combination of roads for 3 average miles
I work in the motor industry and am in a very lucky position of being able to try lots of tires. I have read the reviews on these tires when they came out and was just at the point of needing 2 new ones ones on my car so went for a full set of these over the Michelin Super Sports changing from the OE Conti sport contact 3. My car is a 2010 Focus RS (305 bhp) so its a car that pushes the limits of any tire even more so on the front wheels, the minute I drove on these tires I could feel the road feedback like I would expect from a cut slick in the dry! The wet weather grip is also nothing short of amazing, that coupled with possibly the lowest road noise i've ever had from a 40 or 35 profile tire then you get the idea! Unless your on the track with your car the best all round tire you can buy it these, Simples!

Given 91% while driving a Audi S3 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
Hands down this is the best tire I have ever had making light work of my 340hp and 360 lb/tf torque. It puts the power down on the road and doesn't seem to give up. I've tried many tires throughout my 18 years on the road from Continental Sport 3/5 to Michellin Pilot Sport 2/3. Anyhow, to the praise... if ever there was a tire that made me feel safe, inspired confidence, that I could trust come rain or shine and had the best grip that I have ever known then this is it! Well done Goodyear for making such a top class tire! Braking distance is much shorter versus the PS2/3 and wear is really good so far. The mother of all tires... you just can't mess with it. I look at some of the tire tests for the year and the P Zero's have been rated 1st and it makes me laugh... Killer tire this is, love it!

What can I say about these tires that hasn't already been said before. So much drip! Even in the wet they put up a darn good fight before letting go & even then they're still trying to grip.
I had some Bridgestone Potenza RE001 before which were good but these are on another level again.
Can't recommend them highly enough.

Given 93% while driving a Skoda Octavia vRS (225/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
I drive a VRS OCTAVIA VRS 2010 facelift originally fitted with Conti Sprt2 great tire for long life grip etc. At 23000 still couple of mm left but replaced with Goodyear F1 ASY 2. I loved the car but found ride a nightmare on my back, I used to avoid drain covers and road repairs as it shook you apart. I had considered changing the car due to ride. The new F1s re a major improvement for me absorbing more of the unven surface. Even my wife noticed the difference and sid it was money well spent. Its erly days but completed 1800 miles driving down South France and very pleased. hard for me to fairly score wear etc as too early to say but I hope it will be good. Do still consider Continental as they have worn well and handling has also been good. F1 just has edge for me on ride and comfort.

Given 90% while driving a Volkswagen GOLF MK5 R32 3.2 V6 4MOTION (225/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 10 spirited miles
I just went from having the bridgestone re001 to this fantastic tire's the Goodyear eagle f1 assy 2, and i can't rate them enough, they are very smooth the grip is fantastic and also in the wet, and the main thing is very very quiet and that's how i like them when it comes to high performance hatchbacks like the R32 mk5 Dsg.

Definite improvement on the asymmetric 1. more comfortable, noticeably better braking from the first moment I touched the pedal, precise steering, grip, the list goes on. Tires are really coming on these days, I struggle to afford them but there is just no way I could go back to a budget/mid tire.

Given 99% while driving a BMW 330CI M Sport (255/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
I have these tires on the rear, I had conti sport 5's on before these and rated them very highly. But these tires are far better, they offer far better grip in the wet, and in the dry they are better (not massively as the contis in the dry were very good) and they seem to be wearing better. The DSC light comes on half as much as when I used to have the contis on, and when I have the DSC off I haven't even nearly lost it so they are very good and give good enough feedback so you wont lose it on the edge.
