The General Tire G-MAXâ„¢ AS07 was introduced on August 1st, 2023, replacing the existing G-MAXâ„¢ AS05 and Grabberâ„¢ UHP, and merging them into one powerline. This all-season ultra-high-performance tire is designed for passenger cars, crossovers, light trucks, and SUVs. Key features include improvements in wet and dry braking, snow traction, and reduced road noise, with a focus on long-lasting treadwear. The G-MAXâ„¢ AS07 is available in 77 sizes, covering 16-24" rim diameters, encompassing over 90% of the segment, and comes with a 50,000-mile limited treadwear warranty and 45-day trial period.

2024 Tire Rack UHP All Season Tire Test P3 of 9

The General G-MAX AS-07 delivered a slightly firm ride on the road, communicating most imperfections to the driver but rounding them off to avoid a rough feeling. Noise was a deftly blended mix of muted tones, and the steering built effort nicely, feeling responsive but just shy of immediate. On the wet track, the tire performed well with lively, pointed steering that worked in concert with a balanced, planted feeling, though it could find oversteer quicker than desired when pushed to the limit. It truly shined on the dry track, where it felt composed and agile, and any traction issues disappeared, delivering the best braking distances in the test and competitive lap times. In the snow, it was a decent performer, able to put power down well with predictable handling, making it a good overall package, though it lacked the outright traction to compete with the very best in winter conditions.

Mine is a wierd size tire, fits the Mazdaspeed miata and who knows if anything else. I went through 3 sets of original spec Toyo tires in 39k miles before I found these. Treadwear is supposed to be MUCH better, traction is great (seems just as good), comfort and noise is better than the stock tires--I wish I had found these sooner!

I only have a few hundred miles on my new AS 07's, after replacing my set of AS 05's on my Infiniti G25. Right off the bat though, I can say they have plenty of grip for my 'spirited' driving style without being too harsh over any subpar roadways. They are quiet while cruising and best of all, didn't break the budget. It would have been easy to spend $200-500 more on a competitors tire, but I can't imagine feeling any better about a tire at any other price. Count me as a big fan and an avid endorser of this tire.
