245/45 R16 Tire Review Highlights
Writing about the Bridgestone Potenza S01
rated 93%
I had several sets of these tires in Porsche OEM N-Spec. They are noisy and uncomfortable. So what? Porsche themselves required that if a car was ordered with these tires and sport suspension that the order had to be confirmed to make sure that there hadn't been a mistake.
This is a sad reflection upon the sort of people who bought Porsche 928 cars new. The combination of Bridgestone S-01 tires and Sport Suspension is what driving a Porsche is all about. The faster you go the better it gets!
They are a WONDERFUL driving tire. Fabulous grip, amazing turn-in and absolutely predictable at the limit. I found myself anticipating an amount of understeer which had been present in all the other tires I had used, This was replaced by wonderful bite and turn-in with the S-01 (Porsche N Spec.)
The Porsche 928 S4 calls of 44 PSI in the rear tires which causes some tires to wear in the middle and become useless in the wet. These tires are simply the best I ever had on my Porsche 928 in 200,000 miles of driving. If you want to drive like grandma get something else, but if you want to use the car as intended and drive it really hard these are very, very good tires. Sharp response, wonderful feel, and very well-behaved.

Fantastic tires for summer although slightly loud. They hold 500hp at the rear wheels great. Cheap and will definitely biy then again

only had them on for 3 months when a small stick went through the sidewall on one of my back tires , had to throw it away and buy a new one ,, am thinking that maybe the sidewall is very thin ?? would love some feedback from anyone that's had a similar problem ..

Fitted to a TVR Griffith 500. Side walls are a little softer than the Bridgestone S03s they replaced but overall a very good all round performance tire.

Writing about the Nexen N3000
rated 50%
For what it's worth, my 300zx TT has 245/45 Nexen N3000's all round and the bottom line is that the rear in the wet is just "not funny" dangerous. So, if you have a performance RWD car, either don't drive in the wet or drive like an OAP. In my case, the latter. Great price however, just the grip is always on my mind.
The front tires need replacing and so will probably move the rear's to the front and go for quality rear tires. Originally it had Bridgestone Potenza's on it, and they worked an absolute treat. Would prefer peace of mind over the budget in this case.

For the price a superb buy for the HIGHER performance vehicles. I have had most makes of performance tire and non can touch the T1R - admittedly I only get around 8k out of a set, but that says something for the grip. Always replace all four is the trick to superb grip, feedback and general stability. Those who say this tire is no good have absolutely no idea! That said it may depend on the car and the way it is set up, get it all right and these tires will provide endless fun.

These tires are brilliant, it's a shame you can't get them anymore. The relpacement bridgestone s03 doesn't suit the griff as well and don't seem as good as the s02.
