Linglong Sport Master 4S vs Vredestein Quatrac

This head-to-head pits the budget-oriented Linglong Sport Master 4S against the premium-touring Vredestein Quatrac-two all-season options aimed at very different buyers. Across two 2025 AutoBild tests (SUV 215/55 R17 and UHP 225/40 R18), the Quatrac topped the field overall twice, while the Linglong finished mid-to-lower pack but showed standout stopping power on dry roads.

The pattern is clear: Linglong delivers surprisingly short dry braking and solid value, whereas Vredestein dominates in wet grip, aquaplaning resistance, and winter capability. If your daily driving sees frequent rain or occasional snow, the Quatrac's safety margins are hard to ignore; if you drive in mild climates and want maximum dry bite for less money, the Linglong has niche appeal.

Best Review for the Vredestein Quatrac
Given 77% 205/55 R16 on a combination of roads for 7 spirited miles
They grip surprisingly well for an all season tire in the dry and snow. I have these mounted on a 8th generation Honda civic sedan with the r18 engine and these tires have me absolutely glued to the ground. I replaced my old Goodyear eagle "all season" tire which had the snow performance of a summer tire in the snow and didn't even preform well in wet or dry. But back to the vredestein, I once was screwing around (dry, 65°f) taking a highway exchang ramp a bit too fast, I hit one rather sharp bend at probably 55+mph and didn't break traction for a second, no tire squeal or anything. Conclusion

Vredestein Quatrac is the more complete all-season tire, winning both shared tests and leading convincingly in wet braking (≈7-8% shorter), wet handling (+5-7%), aquaplaning (+9-19%), and all key snow metrics (≈6-15% advantages). It's also quieter and more efficient, with slightly better wear in the 18-inch test-exactly the traits that build year-round confidence.

Linglong Sport Master 4S counters with best-in-test dry stopping in both sizes (up to ~9% advantage) and lower purchase price, plus strong abrasion results in the 18-inch test. But its snow limitations and higher rolling resistance narrow its viable use case. Choose Quatrac for all-weather safety and balanced manners; pick the Linglong if you prioritize short dry stops and upfront savings in a warm, mostly dry climate.
Key Differences
  • Wet safety: Quatrac brakes shorter (~7-8%) and handles faster (+5-7%) in the wet
  • Aquaplaning: Quatrac holds notably higher speeds (+9-19%) in straight and curved tests
  • Snow performance: Quatrac leads in braking (≈14-15%), traction (≈9-11%), and handling (≈6%)
  • Dry braking: Linglong stops shorter on dry (≈5-9% advantage)
  • Efficiency and refinement: Quatrac is quieter (≈2-3 dB) with lower rolling resistance (≈5-9%)
  • Value orientation: Linglong offers lower purchase cost and strong abrasion in 18-inch; Quatrac delivers higher overall safety and test results

Footnote

This page has been developed using tire industry testing best practices. This means we are only comparing tests which have had both tires in the same test.

Why is this important? Tire testing is heavily affected by things like surface grip levels and surface temperature, which means you can only compare values from the same day. During a tire test external condition changes are calculated into the overall results, but it is not possible to calculate this between tire tests performed on different days or at different locations.

As a result you will see other tests on Tire Reviews which feature both the %s and %s, but as they weren't conducted on the same day, the results are not comparable.

Lots of other websites do this sort of tire comparison, Tire Reviews doesn't.
