Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 vs Vredestein Quatrac

Two of the most credible premium all-season touring options go head-to-head: Bridgestone's Turanza All Season 6 and Vredestein's Quatrac. Across eight shared tests from 2023-2025, both tires consistently finish near the top, but they achieve it in different ways. The Bridgestone repeatedly sets the benchmark for dry stopping and often excels in straight-line wet braking, while the Vredestein tends to dominate dynamic wet control, aquaplaning resistance, and winter performance.

Recent results underline this split. In AutoBild's 2025 SUV test (215/55 R17), Quatrac won overall with class-leading wet and strong snow results, while Bridgestone was second thanks to superb dry braking and balanced manners. In AutoBild's 2025 18-inch test, Quatrac again led the wet, but Bridgestone countered with better wear, abrasion and value metrics-key for long-term cost of ownership. Multiple braking shootouts and market overviews repeatedly place the Bridgestone first in dry and wet stopping distances, highlighting its safety reserves when a single emergency stop matters most.

Real World Driver Reviews

Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 Driver Reviews

Drivers generally describe the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 as a confidence-inspiring all-season tire with strong wet performance (including good aquaplaning resistance) and very capable dry grip that can feel close to a summer tire. Comfort and refinement are frequently praised, with many finding it quiet and plush for daily touring, alongside solid tread life expectations. A recurring minority drawback is a numb/soft steering feel that reduces "fun" and feedback, with some also noting slightly higher rolling resistance/fuel use and occasional motorway-speed harshness or noise.

Best Review for the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6
Given 90% 225/45 R17 on a combination of roads for 300 average miles
Hi, I've done around 500km on new Turanza, mainly in city. I've got Mondeo mk4 1.6TDCI after chip. I've used previously Vredestein Quatrac Pro. I've have tested so far Bridgestone on the dry and wet in 20-5C. So far they more comfortable than Vredestein Quatrac Pro, noise is around the same (so they rather quiet tires - I've been using 225/50 R17 (not a standard Mondeo mk4, but similiar size (a bit bigger than standard 215/50R17 and smaller than next standard tire 235/45R18))). On dry Bridgestones are more gripper than Vredestein and on wet the are excellent compared to Vredestein. On Quatrac... Continue reading this review using the link below

Best Review for the Vredestein Quatrac
Given 77% 205/55 R16 on a combination of roads for 7 spirited miles
They grip surprisingly well for an all season tire in the dry and snow. I have these mounted on a 8th generation Honda civic sedan with the r18 engine and these tires have me absolutely glued to the ground. I replaced my old Goodyear eagle "all season" tire which had the snow performance of a summer tire in the snow and didn't even preform well in wet or dry. But back to the vredestein, I once was screwing around (dry, 65°f) taking a highway exchang ramp a bit too fast, I hit one rather sharp bend at probably 55+mph and didn't break traction for a second, no tire squeal or anything. Conclusion

Both tires are excellent year-round choices, but they prioritize different safety envelopes. The Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 is the braking specialist-consistently shortest on dry and frequently among the best on wet-and it adds standout longevity and lower abrasion, making it the stronger long-term value for high-mileage drivers and warmer or mixed climates. The Vredestein Quatrac is the control specialist-more composed in heavy rain with superior aquaplaning margins and better snow capability-ideal for regions that see frequent rain and regular light-to-moderate winters.

If your priority is maximum day-to-day security in sudden stops, crisp dry feel, and low running costs, choose the Bridgestone. If you want the most confidence in sustained wet handling and winter traction without switching to dedicated winter tires, pick the Vredestein. The practical takeaway: Bridgestone wins the stop; Vredestein wins the storm.
Key Differences
  • Dry stopping: Bridgestone consistently shorter (e.g., 36.8 m vs 40.2 m in 225/50 R17, ~8-9% advantage).
  • Wet dynamics: Vredestein regularly quicker in wet handling and circle; better curved aquaplaning margins.
  • Snow: Vredestein generally stronger in braking/traction/handling (notably 8% shorter snow braking in 225/50 R17).
  • Wear and abrasion: Bridgestone lasts longer (e.g., 59,150 km vs 45,850 km; abrasion 969 g vs 1,311 g).
  • Noise/comfort: Vredestein typically quieter and slightly more comfortable.
  • Value profile: Bridgestone often delivers lower running costs (wear, abrasion, fuel in some tests), while Vredestein can offer better purchase-price value scores in select tests.

Footnote

This page has been developed using tire industry testing best practices. This means we are only comparing tests which have had both tires in the same test.

Why is this important? Tire testing is heavily affected by things like surface grip levels and surface temperature, which means you can only compare values from the same day. During a tire test external condition changes are calculated into the overall results, but it is not possible to calculate this between tire tests performed on different days or at different locations.

As a result you will see other tests on Tire Reviews which feature both the %s and %s, but as they weren't conducted on the same day, the results are not comparable.

Lots of other websites do this sort of tire comparison, Tire Reviews doesn't.
