Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Maserati (265/50 R19) on mostly town for 3,000 spirited miles
A good tire however not a hi performance tire

Given 89% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2 (235/60 R18 V) on a combination of roads for 15,000 easy going miles
I have previously had Continentals and Goodyears on my Freelander 2, and the Yokohamas have, in my experience been the best all-round tires. I live and drive in South Africa, with its variety of road conditions and extreme summer temperatures, and these tires have proved their worth in terms of comfort, handling (dry and wet) and general wear. I hit a 4 or 5 cm deep pot-hole at 100 kph on one of our notorious "tarred" roads and waited for the bang as the tire blew. Nothing; no tire or rim damage. I'm very happy with these tires.

Subaru (225/60 R17) on mostly motorways for 30 easy going miles
Thought it was a good tire. It's much more comfortable than the standard yoko's on an outback. We hardly need them for really 4x4 roads. They don't wear :after 40.000 km they're looking like new. Another 40 k won't be a problem. But ...grip in wet conditions is very poor. We drive really easy going, even more when it's raining , but even then we do slip sometimes in corners. Looking for some really good winter-tires for 3/4 of the year.
