The Nexen N Blue HD has a mixed overall record, with fuel consumption a more consistent positive and wear a repeated concern. ADAC placed it 14th of 19 in its 2013 European summer touring test in 185/60 R15, praising fuel consumption but criticising high wear. The 2014 ADAC test in 195/65 R15 again placed it 14th, this time of 17, with relatively low fuel consumption offset by wet-road and wear weaknesses. The separate 2013 54 Tire Braking Test in 195/65 R15 placed it 18th of 54, a more competitive result, although no individual braking breakdown is available here.
Its 3rd of 8 in the 2012 Auto Express Summer Tire Test in 205/55 R16 is an unusually strong overall placing against that later record. The field was closely grouped, with all eight within 2% overall, and Auto Express said strong wet and aquaplaning performance compensated for a near-last dry result. That wet-road praise contrasts with ADAC’s criticism in 2014, so it should not be treated as a consistent wet-grip strength. With no measured discipline margins here, the clearest repeated findings are favorable fuel consumption and unsatisfactory wear, alongside variation in grip between tests.
