I have recently replaced the ZV5s with the new ZV7. Having read the good reviews I was confident I had made the right choice. Having said that, the ZV5 is a tough act to follow - it's a good all round tire, but with a touch of sportiness with its firm upright side wall and the generous rim protector that is so useful in protecting the alloys. I was disappointed then to find that the side walls on the new ZV7 are nowhere near as upright and reinforced as the ZV5s, but even more disappointing is the miserly rim protector you now get with these tires. Unfortunately, all this translates into how the tires behave on the road. On the one hand the ZV7 is a quiet tire, even quieter than the ZV5, and the grip in both wet and dry is very good, even impressive. However you do lose out on the twisty bits, there is a lack of communication going through the bends but even worse is the lack of progressive feel through the steering wheel. Haven't had them long enough to report on wear, but will report back on this later. In summary if you want a good safe tire that's quiet and grippy in wet and dry, and you don't engage in anything other than sedate driving or motorway trips, then these tires are ok. But if you want anything a little bit more communicative with good feedback, forget it. I presume Avon have decided to aim these tires at a wider market, in the hope that if you want anything more sporty you go for another tire in the range? In short, a bit disappointing, I won't buy these tires again.

Replaced Nokian Z G2s with a new set of these; early days but very quiet in comparison and less harsh. Subjectively, road-holding seems better than when Nokians were first new. (And they in turn were far superior to the Continentals that were good but wore out quickly).
Remains to be seen how these fare but so far very pleased with what was a gamble since the tires haven't been out long and I hadn't seen any tests. I specifically wanted quieter tires with good rain performance; most of my driving doesn't take place on well-kept German roads but the potholed, broken tarmac country lanes and minor roads where I live.
There aren't too many (well-rated) tires in this size with higher speed XL ratings, so it was a really choice between these and Pirellis. However, I've had Avon winter tires on this car for the last few years and they've coped well with incessant rain in the winter months plus worn reasonably so with an A rain rating these seemed a logical buy.
Give them a go; you won't be disappointed.

I have replaced pirelli p zeros with the avon zv7. I went for less expensive tires as the car is not worth throwing money at. I replaced all four corners for under £240 fitted from tireshopper. My old celica tsport now grips like a ferrari. Incredible wet grip. Get 215/45/17 for your tsport you wont regret it. Can't yet comment on wear rate though. Also can't decide about road feedback as the ride is so smooth.

I've only had these tires for a few weeks and 1,000 miles but I wanted to share how brilliant they are compared the factory-fitted Continentals that they replaced.
To be honest, until the Continentals disappointed me so badly by their ridiculously high wear rate, I thought that all tires were much the same. After doing a lot of research on this site before buying a replacement pair for the front of my Zafira, I chose the Avon ZV5. But when I phoned my preferred tire dealer to order them, I was told that they'd just been replaced by the ZV7 (at the same price). In fact, the ZV7 was so new that I couldn't find them listed or reviewed on ANY site, including Avon's own site. But the ratings were good (C for fuel consumption and A for wet grip) so I went for them. I have not been disappointed.
The first thing I noticed was that they are MUCH quieter than the Continentals. The ride is also much smoother making the car more comfortable, even though I've increased the pressure by 3 PSI to the 'fully loaded' value at the dealer's recommendation as this is a front-heavy diesel car. The noise, ride and comfort improvements have made it feel like a very different car to drive.
Grip in both the wet and dry seem fine, although I don't drive to the limits and these are the widest tires fitted to the Zarifa so there's a lot of rubber on the road whatever the make. They certainly feel no worse than the Continentals and possibly a little bit better.
Only time will tell whether these Avon tires wear well, my main gripe with the Continentals, but for now have no hesitation saying that these are the best tires I've ever had in more than half a million miles of driving over 40 years. Unless something untoward happens before the rears need replacement I won't bother doing any more research and just get another pair of ZV7s. These are now my tire of choice.
