Lexus RX400 Tire Review Highlights
very good

I put these tires on for a trip to the Alps for skiing. They are very noticeably quieter and comfortable than the road tires I had before. Pirelli Scorpions and Bridgestones. They grip well in snow, very well in wet and surprisingly well in dry.
But the biggest surprise is the mileage. Had them on for two years, been to the Alps and back three times in winter. Went to Italy and south of France in summer when the weather was at 36 degrees C. Longest lasting tire I have had and I have been driving Lexus RX for 12 years.

Bought two new front Dx640's tires for Lexus 400h. Was persuaded into buying them due to good reviews on road noise and wet grip. They are decent in the two previously mentioned aspects but in terms of longevity they are nothing short of shockingly bad. They are not compatible, in my opinion, with heavier cars. The car has done 5,000 miles with them, mostly in and around town with the occasional motorway journey, and I need to replace both tires. It's a thumbs down from me and I'll never be buying the brand again.

Bought these tires after an extensive online review for various "summer tire" options that perform well under wet conditions.
I was drawn by good reviews (apart from wear, but the tire was still relatively new at the time) -- especially about the grip on wet and reduced noise / low fuel consumption.
Yes, the wet grip is good -- but not worth it by itself (the whole tire design is done around this point alone). Noise level OK, fuel consumption nothing to boast about (my winter Michelins had the same fuel consumption).
I was warned by the installer that the rubber is too soft, and that the tire (regardless of the SUV sales-pitch) will wear-out quickly like an eraser on hot paverment under SUV weight... I have to say that the wear was obvious after just one summer of spirited highway driving!
While the tire performed admirably, especially under several "torrential downpours", it wore down after just two summers (especially the front tires).
As the sidewalls are somewhat soft, with wear, the SUV ride became a bit wobbly when turning, and I decided against putting another new set on this summer. I will not be bying these again.

Is everyone crazy ? For the money I refuse to believe that you can better these tires.
I have just fitted my third pair since owning the car ( 5 years next May ) and as I purchased the most recent items only 3 days ago for £ 120.00 for 2 including delivery I am still a huge fan. My RX400h performance in the dry cannot overawe this rubber and in the wet they are more than capable with no dramas. My tire fitter has also pointed out to me that he is surprised that a budget tire balances so well with little weights !
For those interested I replace the fronts every 8,000 and put the ones I,m replacing on the rears. Wear rate is excellent considering the weight of the car etc.

Put two of these on the rear and the difference in road noise is nothing short of incredible. Wear looks to be very good as well. Have just replaced front tires with the same and car has a completely different driving experience. Quieter, more balanced, much better directional stability. Have previously run Bridgestones and Dunlops. Had the car from new and now at 170,000 miles. These tires transform the driving experience

Dry grip is ok, terrible in the wet, even warm and damp conditions resemble driving in frosty conditions such is the poor grip. Very noisy on the motorway too. I bought my used car with 4 of these newly put on it, I will change them shortly before winter weather sets in as I have very little confidence in them giving any sort of capability in snow or ice.

Put 4 of these on a Lexus RX400h when it had 50k miles on the clock. Just about to replace the front 2 at 95k miles, rears look good for another 7-10k. Mostly mway driving. Not even looking at other brands. It'll be the same again for me.

Not an easy tire to get hold of in a hurry at a good price but worth the effort. I have run this on a Lexus RX400 and the tires respond well under braking in the dry and wet. Good grip reversing uphill in snow as well.
