Peugeot 205 Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Vredestein Quatrac 5 given 82% (155-55-13-T)
Driving on track for 20000 spirited miles
Excellent especially in the dry and for an all-season tire, and with a very progressive handling. I cannot over-exaggerate how can a human-invented substance have so much grip. Mankind has never seen something like this, and probably will never again. Even at the racetrack, these tires are unbelievable. As an example, you can check my lap at the Nordschleife on Youtube, under the title: "Peugeot 205 1.1i (60 HP) - Nürburgring Nordschleife BTG lap in 10'19" on all-season tires".

Writing about the Barum Brillantis 2 given 73% (165-70-13-T)
Driving on mostly country roads for 4000 average miles
Can only compare with the horrendous Toyos I had on the car before but these are much smoother to drive, better grip both in the dry and particularly the wet. The Toyos scared me in the wet a couple of times as they gave up grip without warning and I wasn't driving recklessly. I then changed the Toyos even though they had plenty of tread left on them. The Barums also seem to make the steering a bit lighter which is good as the car doesn't have power steering. They are predictable as well - you know when you are at the edge of grip before you end up in a hedge. Wear is difficult to give an opinion on as the mileage we do is very low but they seem to be wearing evenly. Reasonably priced tire at about £40 each fully fitted and will definitely buy again.

had some hankook paradas before these, there just no match whatso ever, the t1r's are much more responsive, grip better in wet and dry conditions. makes the 205 feel like a go cart again :)

Writing about the Nexen SB652 given 87% (175-65-14-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 6000 spirited miles
The Nexen SB650 in my case is an absolutly fantastic tire. I always insist getting tires with 4 grooves for max steering performance as my car tragically has no PAS and, and another big AND, better distribution of the braking force. This tire is very good in the dry and makes the car handle to its absolute razor tipped edge during "spirited" driving. They wear quite badly though but it just suit the car like cashmere gloves to hands.

Excellent grip for the price, can't really fault them. At least in my 205GTI I don't need to worry about smoking away the fronts as they're so cheap!! :)
