Owners are broadly happy with the Vredestein Quatrac 5, with most praising its quiet, comfortable nature and dependable all-season grip, especially in snow and wet conditions. Snow traction is a standout for almost half of reviewers, and wet grip and dry grip also earn frequent compliments, making it a reassuring everyday tire for mixed UK weather. The main recurring niggles are longevity-related: around one in six owners flag weaker wet braking, and a similar minority mention faster or uneven wear than expected.

I had these tires for approximately 20.000km and I drove throughout every possible scenario.
Here in Abruzzo, Italy, you can travel from the sea to 2500mt mountain passes in an hour and half, so I can tell I tested these tires deeply. Lets start with summer handling: they are fairly good, even in the hottest days (40 degrees Celsius in august) they perform well enough to drive in complete safety and comfort. But there are some drawbacks: as you can imagine, the tire's compound is a bit soft to well adapt in cold weather, so in tight corners at high speed you can clearly feel the its limit. But it's okay: these are not performance tires.
In winter they perform even better and, in my opinion, they're better than a summer tire, in fact the grip is very good. In snow and ice conditions you can't expect a lot, expecially in extreme conditions, but overall I was satisfacted by their behavior. Lastly, but not least important, wet performance. Sorry Vredestein, but they're not so good. Both in winter and summer condition the lateral grip is poor as well braking and traction. Never experienced aquaplaning though. And they're not the quietest tires in the market (and not the loudest).
Buy again? For this price there is something else you want to see (Nexen Nblue 4 season, which I wrote a review on this site).
Fitted these on my family SUV as, with a drive to a ski holiday booked, I wanted better winter performance than the stock summer road tire. Nothing more embarrassing than being the driver of a 4x4 but being stuck in bad weather!.
The Quatrac is quiet and retains excellent feel through the corners. They don't match the old Hankook Ventus Prime for emergency dry braking but there is plenty of grip even on a spirited drive. In the cold and wet they really start to excel. The car always has plenty of grip, there's no spin when pulling away quickly. Loads of grip in the corners and braking is excellent. The ride is great too.
I needed winter certified tires for 2 trips to the Alps for skiing. The Quatracs are compliant with European winter tire regulations. In severe snow conditions they are better than budget winter tires. The car retained amazing levels of grip in acceleration, steering and braking. Our chalet was up a hill away from the main road and had a very steep drive. I was the only vehicle in our group that didn't need snow chains to ascend the hill. Fresh powder, wet snow, compacted snow and ice, nothing stopped the Quatracs gripping. When the snow melted and became deep slush the car still had loads of traction. Back home we experienced freezing rain after a night of snow and the local roads became an ice rink. Only then did the traction control and ABS braking intervene, yet still I was able to get home safely.
Many will tell you all season tires are a compromise. These out perform most winter tires in mild winter conditions and match them in severe snow, ice and slush. In warm dry summer drives they match summer tires too. You are not aware that your tires aren't a summer road tire. In cool and wet conditions they excel. Where's the compromise? They are decent in light off road driving too!

Bought the tires two years ago and drove them around 45.000km in Turkey and Bulgaria, year-round, they still have approximately 5mm tread depth. In dry, wet and snow had no problems. Tires are quiet and soft at least compared to my previous Bridgestones. Wear is low, think that i can use them at least one more year.

i've had the tires on for 4 months and in the worst snow we've seen in years(peak district) they've performed really well up to now passing other cars on steep hills and braking confidently going down. Can't comment on wear due to the short time they've been on
I have run my rear wheel drive car fitted with a pair of Vredestein Quatrac 5's fitted on the front axle for 12,000 miles so far. They have worn to 6 mm. tread depth and are half worn now. I will replace them @ 3 mm. I run them 6 psi. lower than the recommended pressure of 36 psi., which is far too hard. They are wearing eavenly across the tread at this lower pressure.
I drive fairly steady most of the time but have been known to boot it on occasions. These tires have never given any cause for concern regarding grip in both dry & wet conditions and temperatures below freezing. I tow a caravan onto grassed pitches and again I have no problem with steering.
The Pirelli Cinturato All Season's fitted to the rear at the same time have worn to 4.5 mm. and do not grip the road as well. Previous Goodyear Eagle Vector 2's also on the rear performed better than the Pirelli's and lasted for 22,000 miles. I chose both of these tires for their directional block tread patterns to provide traction on the rear drive axle. I cannot comment on Vredestein Quatrac 5's traction quality.
As a retired Road Transport Engineer I am used to vehicles with dedicated steer and drive axle tires, so I purposely chose these Vredestein Quatrac 5 tires as the best available 'All Season' option for the steer axle on my Mercedes C Class. I have not been disapointed.
After already having expericence with the Vredestein Quatrac 5 tire on our other cars (Opel (Vauxhall) Corsa and Kia Rio), I also had this tire fitted on my Opel (Vauxhall) Insignia yesterday. The Vredestein Quatrac 5 is a reliable tire on all road and weather conditions (at least in the Netherlands, where I live). The tire may not offer the best specs money can buy, but I hardly notice the difference. And after all it;s an all season tire. That means it;s a compromise between a summer and winter tire. I've been driving this tire on all conditions so I know the Quatrac 5 won't let you down. Even when the going gets rough. And it is not as expensive as the Michelin Crossclimate or other A class all season tires. So I am very happy with the Vredestein Quatrac 5.

I drive these tires now for about 2 weeks on a Fiat 500.
There were no other tirebrands available for allseason-tires.
I have never had such a crappy tire in the wet.
Enormous understeering in the wet, low dry grip.
Thought I would try the new all season Quatrac 5 as I live 400 meters up in the valleys of Wales and drive sometimes a 1000 miles a week all over the UK. In the wet, snow and icy conditions these are unbeatable and stop the car better than any expensive top end brands on the market. About 80 per cent as good as the best summer brands in hot dry conditions and I only managed to skid the car slightly on heavy braking on dusty dry roads when driving very fast, then again what tires won't slide slightly in these condiditions. I have done over 18'000 miles on these since January in all conditions, I just swapped the back tires to the front and reckon I will get at least another 18 thousand out of them so great value for money too. I won't be carrying two sets of tires for summer and winter again. They are also quiet and extremely good on rolling resistance so on a tank of fuel I gain around 40-60 miles more for my money. I won't be buying anything else again and have tried all the best makes over the years!
I had a set fitted in January, and the next day it snowed. They were much better than summer tires, especially in traction and braking. In 'normal' British cold weather they were excellent, with positive turn in and a high level of grip. Quite sporty, in fact. We've now had some warmer weather, and they do not soften excessively, though they can be prone to squealing on a smooth dry road. In warm wet weather they remain superb. Altogether they provide positive response and reassuring consistency in all conditions. The icing on the cake is their refinement. Road roar on course surfaces (to which the Octavia is very prone) is considerably reduced, and they provide a well cushioned ride over cats eyes, grates etc. Fuel consumption seems as good as I got with Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance, but the Quatrac 5 gives a much better drive. Wear is a little disappointing, but replacement cost is not excessive.
Bought the Quatrac 5's for a new Megane estate having fitted the Seat Leon with Goodyear Vector 4Seasons and thought I'd have a bit of a comparison. So far I've had warm sunny weather, the UK autumn and wet winter with the added bonus of ice and snow.
The tire noise is not noticeable in the cabin - just like any other tire I've had and isn't intrusive. I've done 7400 miles so far and they are wearing well - I'm not worried about having to replace them at 10k or 12k. I haven't had any issues with the heat in the summer in the UK or the wet roads - no slips or loss of traction but I'm not flinging it around corners generally.
Recent icy and snowy weather only left me with wheels spinning a little once pulling away from a junction uphill leading to the traction control kicking in (icy junction not gritted). On the snow-covered A68 I was able to pass stranded cars and trucks on a steep uphill S-bend section, even having to stop midway to let a car pass coming downhill. The tires slipped a little bearing in mind they aren't full winter tires, but had little problem starting off again on the steep section without having to wheelspin and rev the engine greatly to get up the hill.
I will definitely consider these tires again and when it comes to replacing the current ones, and they seemed to work better on the ice than the 4Seasons fitted to the Leon (though I didn't drive that car much in the bad conditions). For general UK use I would recommend the Quatrac 5's.
These tires give a lovely comfortable quiet drive. Felt a bit soft after initial fitting but improved after a number of miles. In mild conditions the car feels as though the back wants to break away, but it doesn't. In the cold conditions of this January the tires felt firmer and handled better. I don't think these tires are for the boy racers though. Have yet to try them in summer conditions as have only completed 1000 miles in them so also cannot comment on wear rate.To sum up, these tires are fine if you are a sensible driver and they give a very comfortable quiet ride

The quatrac 5 is substantialy better than its predecessor, the quatrac 3.
It performs the same/ little better, but it's less noisy and more wear resistant.
