The Pirelli Ice Zero FR finished fourth in all four tests, earning a Recommended award from Tire Reviews in 2022. Snow traction was a consistent strength: it was first of eight in the 2023 TESTIRENKAAT test and second of 12 Nordic friction tires in the 2020 Test World test. Dry braking was also generally good, including first of eight at TESTIRENKAAT. Testers praised its handling in the wet and dry, and it placed second of eight in wet handling in the 2020 Vi Bilagare test. Tire Reviews called it a good all-round tire with dynamic handling.
Wet braking was less convincing, with sixth of eight in the 2022 Tire Reviews test and last of 12 in its class at Test World in 2020. Aquaplaning resistance was described as average in two tests. Ice results varied considerably: TESTIRENKAAT found the weakest ice grip among the friction tires, yet it was first of 12 in class for timed ice handling at Test World, where the tester also noted instability on ice and snow. Tire Reviews found it good on ice but noted limited snow braking, despite a distance only 3.4% off the best. Dry handling impressions also differed, from first of eight subjectively at Vi Bilagare to tenth of 12 in class at Test World.

The Pirelli Ice Zero FR was a fun tire to drive, and well deserved fourth overall. It's only weakness was snow braking, but that was only 3.3% off the best, it excelled in snow handling being the fastest and nicest tire to drive, to had excellent snow traction, it was good on ice, and very good in the wet and dry. I'm recommending the Ice Zero FR as a good all round tire
