Nokian Line Reviews - Page 2

Given 81% while driving a Vauxhall Corsa (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 11,000 spirited miles
Bought these as thought they were a good, safe all rounder - and I have been proved right. Grip in wet and dry is fine, feedback is good, perform very well in cold of winter and have lasted pretty well with my daughters spirited 11K miles of driving. Road noise is about same as original Goodyears. Will definitely consider these again - Nokian are definitely a name to consider along with the Premium brands.

Given 36% while driving a BMW (205/55 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 1,200 spirited miles
Normally I am stubborn and trust not all reviews has been written.
This time I am a little bit lazy and need tires asap.

Too bad; my stubborn is right.
When they were new wet grip was okay and cheeks not to soft ( I have XL version).
After about 1200 miles very unstable (soft cheeks), a lot oversteer and understeer in wet condition ( in simple words no grips).

So I have replaced them for Michelin Pilot sport 4, what a difference.
Soo for me waste of time and money.

Given 53% while driving a Peugeot 508 SALOON (215/60 R16 V) on mostly motorways for 30,000 average miles
Performed very well while new. I drove them for 6 months some 30.000 km. After winter switch, I stored them at my garage and fitted again in spring, seemed like they lost all characteristics.
The wear was intensive, the car start pulling on the right side so I went for wheel alignment. The results were normal, all the troubles caused by the tires. After total 40.000 km I changed these tires and the car came back to normal.
This is 2nd set of Nokian that disappointed me.

Given 97% while driving a Opel Astra J 1.4 turbo (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 5,000 average miles
I used those tires after a set of Goodyear, Tires grip on dry and wet roads is perfect and more comfortable than last set. Very early to look at the wear but lower noise and excellent sensitivity to steering

Given 93% while driving a Skoda Rapid TDI (225/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 25,000 spirited miles
Bit sceptical when buying these and removed my old Primacy 3s . Very impressed with the tires. Extremely quiet, stick well when warm and you can really throw the car around in the wet

Given 56% while driving a Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDI Sport Estate (B5.5) (195/65 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 8,500 easy going miles
Bought these after reading many reviews and wanting a midrange value for money tire, but i`m afraid to say very disappointed as they have only covered 8500 miles and are down to 3mm. Fitted to front even wear across whole tire so no tracking or inflation issues and driven sensibly at all times also road noise increased as tread went down will not buy again.

Given 70% while driving a Mazda MX6 (205/50 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
Tire is really hard to heat. Slipping in cornering when cold. In comparision to barum bravuris 3HM i would say it's 7 to 10.
When get warm quite nice grip, but the sidewalls are bit too soft.
Nice braking in rainy conditions, but cornering still average. I expected something more from the tires costs much more than barum ones.

Given 67% while driving a Hyundai i30 (195/65 R15) on mostly country roads for 16,000 average miles
Bought these Nokian Line tires for my i30 , reason was I already have a set of Nokian WDR3 winter tires that I find superb and the Line has great reviews . I was shocked at how fast they wore down , with relatively easy driving. They have a nice touch with thread depth stamped on the tire , but they dropped from 8 to 2mm after 16k miles. I couldn't believe it.....never again !

Given 93% while driving a Audi A4 2.8 quattro (205/55 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 9,000 spirited miles
I fitted these to my Audi A4 Quattro to replace a set of Cooper Zeons which were okay, no complaints but I knew I could do better.
After seeing all the rave reviews I was interested, and spent some time researching the company, looking at their website and seeing how they tested their tires.
I came to the conclusion that if they can work well in Finland they should be fine in Somerset where I have to deal with lots of muddy and bumpy and wet country lanes.
I was hoping to wait until we had some snow to do a review, but as it may never snow again, I decided to do it now.
The first thing I noticed was the noise (or lack of it) I was hammering down the A303 and I could hear this noise - a sort of whining that I had never noticed before, on the Coopers or the Michelins. It took me a while to figure out that it was the sound of the engine. This had previously been drowned out by tire noise.
So they are super quiet. The ride is comfortable and stable. Grip on a Quattro is superb anyway but I can say that these are smoother and more progressive than the previous candidates with great responsiveness. I realise now how woolly the Coopers were. Grip in wet and dry is outstanding.
I have had them for about a year and a half now and wear is very acceptable and even.
I think they are the best tires I have used on my Quattros. I used to use Contis and these are better than them too. Maybe the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 would match them, but they cost a lot more.
I shall definately buy them again when it is time. Highly recommended.

Given 97% while driving a Ford Fiesta (195/50 R15 V) on mostly town for 60,000 average miles
Wonderful tire. I now have these on both of the family cars after being initially recommended them by my local garage. Great grip in both dry and wet conditions with traction that installs confidence when driving. When you drive passengers like your children on a school run you need the reassurance of a quality tire and not some cheap rubber that could cost you dearly. I simply will not buy anything else. Wear rates are even across the life of the tire and they retain great grip until they reach the end of their life. Priced very competitively they easily out perform the more costly Pirellis I used before them.

Given 100% while driving a Rover 820 Si Automatic (195/65 R15) on a combination of roads for 34,450 average miles
