Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Top 3 Joyroad Winter RX808 Reviews

Given 79% while driving a Subaru 06 B9 Tribeca (225/55 R18) on a combination of roads for 15,000 average miles
For a bargain tire, these are punching above their weight. I bought a Used Subaru Tribeca with these having just been mounted on, then proceeded to use it for deliveries during one of the craziest snow seasons Ottawa (Orleans) has ever seen. The combination of Subaru AWD, 8.4 Inches of ground clearance and these tires was undefeatable. Snow up to the headlights? Plow on through, no problem. Plowed in driveway? No issue, just punch on through. Unplowed parking lot? That's a problem for CR-Vs with All Seasons still on. My first choice, when laying out my own money for winters tires, is always Kumho (imagine the winter above, but doable in a smart fortwo. THAT'S a Kumho Winter Tire), but these were a nearly as good substitute that someone else put on when I bought this Subaru.

Awesome tire for the price I paid. Quite surprised in the Edmonton weather snow storms had nothing on me with these tires on. Would recommend to buy again and others to try them out.

I just bought a Honda with Joy Road RX 808 tires, they are very noisy, will be changing them shortly - would not recommend them

Given 77% while driving a Ford F 150 (270/65 R18) on mostly town for 2,500 average miles
Berry good tires for the price. I have had better snow tires but have had much worse ones as well. So upper middle performance at a basic price happy with this set so far.

Given 26% while driving a Volkswagen Passat 2.0 140 TDI Sport Estate (245/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 800 average miles
These truly are winter tires. They make normal driving like you are continually driving on ice. I class them as dangerous and am taking them off 1 month after putting them on
