After a horrible experience with my previous OEM tire, Continental Eco Contact 6, I put on EGP2.
Consumption is slightly higher, but not alarming, as EC6's only advantage is consumption; it is logical that they focus on this ability and reduce the rest.
On wet roads and in curves, I notice a significant improvement over the EC6. It is very comfortable and quiet, as I can notice for now. Dry and wet grip is excellent.
EC6 lasted just 30.000 km and 3 years. From this tire, I hope it can be doubled. Just one fun fact - in my country, the price for these two tires is almost similar (!), which is crazy considering how dangerous EC6 is on the wet.
Handling is great. I can really feel improvement from anything I drove previously (Firestone, Bridgestone, Vredestein, Continental, Hankook). Vredestein was very comfortable biased always, so I enjoyed this, but EGP2 seems comfortable enough, but also good in curves, and very confident in braking. Hankook (I just drove winter RS3, so maybe it is not a good comparison) was also very comfortable, but EGP2 is a level up in confidence or feel.
The reason I chose this tire is that in my country, there are no current models of touring tires from Tier 1 and 2 except EGP2 and Vredestien Ultrac +, which unfortunately did very badly in this year's tests. Manufacturers push eco tires (like Conti) or older models (like Primacy 4 or Bridgestone T005). So for 185 65 R15 I think it was the best possible choice if you want to go above Nexen, Kumho, Kleber, Fulda, Uniroyal...
About wear, and whether I would buy it again, I cannot say; it is too early for that.
Had many tires! These may have been one of the best for all round utility. They replaced a 2018 year Turanza and the comfort level soared...so much nicer over speedbumps!! The wear is very impressive too. Been waiting for them to go down in order to replace but still a good 3mm plus left.
Did struggle in that brief late winter snow/ice episode on icy hill, though suspect most summer tires would, - Anyhow, I have elected to now move to Conti PremiumContact7 as this seems to be the "in tire". Driving back from the fitters I can tell these are firmer, (but promising).

Did this also happen to you? I was super satisfied with the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 in size 205/55/16 — to the point that I changed them at 80,000 km!!! They kept all their characteristics at the maximum level up to 55,000 km, and after that they only lost a tiny bit of their excellent performance. The ABS never kicked in up to that mileage; I can even say they *stuck* to the road during sudden braking on dry asphalt, even at 60,000 km, and the hazard lights would come on automatically from the abrupt deceleration! From 60,000 to 80,000 km they still behaved very well — it felt like I was driving on a set of Continental or Michelin of a well-known brand that had done around 45,000–50,000 km.
BUT! This summer, when I installed the exact same tires again (production December 2025), something strange happened. During sudden braking under the same temperature and acceleration conditions — coming from the same Avenue and braking hard from 100 km/h at the next traffic light — the ABS unit activates, causing the car not to “dig into” the road anymore! (Leon, January 2018 model, with brake fluid changed in September 2021.) Did something change in Goodyear’s rubber compound? Even the texture of the new tires seems more nylon-like and less rubbery — or is it just my impression?

Many people here had overwhelmingly positive reviews about these tires. So I am absolutely shocked how underwhelming they felt in my experience. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but the traction control light goes off pretty often when I give them a good floor, and the car starts going to the side. Never happens under dry condition with my other tires. They’re also a lot more prone to slipping when it rains. They’re fuel efficient, give good road feedback, they’re not noisy, it’s all comfy - but the consistent lack of grip that I’m otherwise used to, has really frustrated me.
These tires transformed the cars feel compared to budget tires when I bought the car. The tires have lived up to the reviews having done over 20k and showing minimum wear on the rears and plenty of tread left on the fronts. Run on a Kia Ceed SW diesel, loaded up with kids. Reckon they'll comfortably do 40k miles on the front and have good feel and predictable handling.
Fitted to the front of my Seat Ibiza in July 2022 and covered just over 38,000 mainly motorway miles. They felt stable and secure in everyday driving, with good grip and comfort.
At around 4.5mm tread depth both tires developed a vibration at about 30mph. After swapping them to the rear, the vibration moved from the steering wheel to the seat, which points to tire deformation.
They delivered decent mileage and were generally good to drive on, but developing a structural issue before they were properly worn out was disappointing — especially as the Continentals on the rear have lasted longer without any problems.
I put the Goodyears on when replacing the OE Yokohamas on my Suzuki Swift Sport. My main concern was whether they would maintain the sporty feel of the car. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Goodyears were on par with the Yokos in the handling dept. The wear on these GYs is fantastic. I still have 2mm to the wear indicators but I'm replacing them due to pothole damage. I'll stick with the Goodyears.
I drive mixed town and motorways, but I'm often at the limit of the tires in town driving.
Noise levels have remained the same from new.

43,000 miles with no problems at all ,fitted on my Mercedes 220d changed 1 month ago with new pair Goodyear efficiency performance 2.
Made a big mistake with Continental premium contract 7 1,7 year fitted at rear, now nearly worn , just 3,8 mm tread left- absolutely dreadful longevity!
I will buy another pair Performance 2 to change these rubbish continental premium 7.

Replaced a set of Falken Azenis FK520 on the rear and Sumitomo on the front. Replaced the rears first and straight away the car started to feel unsettled over ruts and tramlined a lot. Didn't inspire confidence at speed at all on anything other then pan flat newly surfaced roads, as the rear of the car felt unplanted. Took a gamble and fitted the same on the front, and initial feeling after 50 miles is that they've balanced each other out, so the entire car shifts about on rutted / broken surfaces. That's far more predictable than just the rear end. Fuel eco seems better by 1-2 mpg which was the primary reason for purchase.
Changing from a recommended nokian wetproof with a rating over 9.5/10 passing 50000 KLM spirited with no problem on dry or wet roads (because of difficulty of shipping these tires from Ukraine) to Goodyear efficient grip performance 2 following the reviews here.
Briefly these tires are good for the 1st 12k miles now they're slippery without being worn, still I don't think I'll buy them again.
Let me add my experience. The tires arrived as a factory delivery on a Skoda Scala 1.5 evo2 Tsi 150 HP in December 2024. I've been driving them since March 5, 2025. I've driven about 7,500km. They withstood the heat test on Greek highways at 40 degrees. Handling on dry roads is excellent, on heavy rain and very wet roads and highways, also excellent. I drive really fast with this summer set. Let's be clear, this is a tire for comfortable driving, not sporty. In that sense, it's perfect, quiet, there's no noise. Extremely good grip and very low consumption, for whom the ECO aspect is important, my recommendation, consumption is the lowest possible. I also drive in smaller cities 20%, and 40-40% is highway and regional roads. Let's be clear, this is still a premium tire and it's rightfully at the top.
In all this it is above my favorite brand Nexen NBlue HD Plus (Korean but now made in Czech) and Laufenn S Fit EQ+ (Hankook, made ih Hungary) which we have been driving on Seat Ibiza 1.4 for many years. Nexen is good because it is soft and it is a really good choice of tire for a harder car like Ibiza, but Goodyear for Skoda is the right choice. It is exactly balanced with everything you need for this category and the power of the car. Everything is just as it should be. Mine are made in Poland.
Unfortunately I would recommend these tires. I say unfortunately because they're expensive. I had the 91 rating, 2 year old tires and mounted a kerb to park and tore the sidewall. So these are not particularly strong. Having said that I had 40,000 miles out of the last pair. No signs of cracking. Predictable performance from the start to end. I've never had a sporty car but as a 'grandad' driver these were good enough, cornering so-so a bit of lean and understeer. About 10% more fuel economy than my next C rated tires. With all that said unless there is a promotion I will not buy again purely based on cost.
