The Ceat 4 SeasonDrive X5 shares seventh place and is rated good. It offers strong value, short dry braking and very good aquaplaning resistance for a low price, but its snow performance and high rolling resistance are clear compromises.

Head-to-head record
Overall finishing position against the tires that have most often shared a test with the Ceat 4 SeasonDrive X5. Only tires tested alongside it at least three times are listed.
The Ceat 4 SeasonDrive X5 combines competitive dry braking with low running costs in Auto Bild tests. It finished third of 11 in the 2025 SUV test and seventh of 15, rated good, in the 2026 full all-season test. In the 2026 braking qualifier it was second of 30 for dry braking, while cost per kilometer ranked fourth of 15 in the 2025 full test and third of 15 in 2026. Wet braking was especially competitive in the SUV test, but snow braking and traction were weaker there and again in the 2026 full test.
Aquaplaning results vary sharply. In the 2025 full test it was 16th of 17 in both disciplines, whereas in 2026 it was second of 17 in each and the best all-season tire. That is an unusual reversal of the earlier weakness. Rolling resistance also changed substantially, from second of 13 in the 2025 SUV test to last of 15 in the 2026 full test, an unusually poor result against its other tests. Comfort and noise varied too. The 2026 test projected long tread life but found high rubber loss, so its low cost per kilometer should not be confused with low abrasion. Its dry braking and value are more consistent strengths than its performance in standing water, snow or efficiency.

The Ceat 4 SeasonDrive X5 emerges as the surprise candidate of the test, offering the best price-to-performance ratio while delivering consistently good results across all conditions. This Indian manufacturer has clearly done its homework, producing a tire that challenges established brands while costing significantly less. The Ceat performs admirably on dry roads with confident handling and reasonable braking, while wet performance remains reassuringly predictable even if not class-leading. Snow capability is solid, providing the security needed for winter driving without drama. The tire offers good ride comfort, making it pleasant for daily use. Minor weaknesses appear in curve aquaplaning performance and slightly elevated noise levels, but these are small prices to pay for such impressive overall competence at this price point. For budget-conscious drivers unwilling to sacrifice safety, the Ceat represents exceptional value.
The Ceat 4 SeasonDrive X5 emerges as a budget surprise, delivering impressively short braking distances across all road conditions. This Indian-manufactured tire punches above its weight class, offering genuine all-season capability at an attractive price point. While it performs admirably in most conditions, it shows slight weakness in aquaplaning resistance, requiring extra caution in heavy rain situations.
