Now we've had some snow and ice I can review. Only about 3k miles use but I'm impressed. Particularly the wet grip, cold road grip is brilliant. Dry is very good but perhaps not quite as brilliant as the very top summer premium brands but in the usual damp cool roads we have in the North UK it's become the perfect all round tire.
Very good tire, well balanced dry wet performance with pretty decent winter capabilities.
Wears well and shows very little signs of wear, noise is low and fuel consumption is pretty good. Wet and dry braking is very good.
This is an ideal summer tire with enough winter performance to get you home.
I drove through 2 inches of snow on various inclines and descent to get home, as long as you keep your speed down handling and braking on snow and ice is quite reasonable for this type of modern light all season tire.
If you expecting to plow through 5 inches of packed snow then your better at looking a dedicated winter tire like the Goodyear ultra-grip 9 or Barum Polaris 5.
But if you dont want the hassle of changing tires each season and dont want the poorer dry and wet compromises of traditional all season tires then this one is for you.

I previously had Nokian Weatherproof fitted to my car. Now I have had the opportunity to drive on about 5cm if snow Nd compacted ice. The bridgestone can't quiet match the Nokian snow performance (they are not far off), but are far better in the wet. The feedback is also better in the dry as are the stopping distances. A good balanced all rounder, suited to Southern England.

Significantly better than the worn cheapo tires these replaced in the wet. No wheel spin on hard acceleration any more.
Our other car has Michelin cross climates on it, the a005 gives more grip through tight corners before understeer kicks in.
Today was first light snow, braking was good.
I bought those tires for British winter, but obviously tires is rubbish at cold weather. It's too dangerous to drive. It's impossible to handle the vehicle on snow. A been driving a cheap budget tires and even those miles are better then Bridgestone a005.
Breaking distance is unbelievable bad. My wife was scare to sit next to me. I'm not talking about driving.

Bought these as I wanted 'All Weather' tire that had decent dry and wet weather performance. So far mostly driven in wet and dry conditions in colder temperatures. Performance has been very good with plenty of grip especially in the wet.
Wet performance is better than the Goodyear Vector G2 these replaced but the downside is increased noise and a bit of a drone on certain surfaces compared to the G2.
They do work in the snow although not sure how well they'll cope with serious deep snow that we do get in County Durham from time to time. At least there's enough performance for me not to be 'that' BMW driver stuck on a slightly snow covered road. Overall I'm happy with the A005s. Not a cheap tire by any means, especially in the large size needed for this car.
Amazing tire!
Very quiet and comfortable. Extremely good dry and wet performance - on par if not better compared to previously driven Uniroyal Rain sport 3 and Bridgestone Dueler sport. Winter peeformance is also a pleasant surprise - fresh deep snow, compacted snow, icy pavements, slush, and everything else that the winter can offer is no issue for that tire. Tires seems on par or better in snow and ice when compared to Nokian WR SUV 3.

Still too early to tell as only done 500 miles but, as i use my A6 Allroad BiTdi as a workhorse the A005s do not feel very much different to the previous GY efficient grips on the road but are far superior when pulling 2.5 tons of loaded trailer on wet grass and mud. I am confident that they will easily outperform summer tires when driving in inclement conditions, the Allroad was right on its limit of grip on 8 inches of snow during the Beast from the East earlier this year. No idea as to longevity but the GYs were worn out at 14000 miles. Also they were available in the correct size last month at £140 each fited and i am not a fan of Michelins in general.
Absolutely fabulous tires. Well worth the money. Not tested in the snow yet but the wet and dry performance is superb and if they work as advertised in the snow then they it will be a near perfect all year tire. Only downside is they are slightly noisy on the motorway. Tires like this should be fitted to the majority of daily driven cars in the UK IMHO.
Bought 4x Bridgestone WeatherControl A005 as they are the only widely available all season tire in the right size for my 2009 Fiesta. Quite impressed with the grip so far, but have not really tested them in horrendous conditions yet. Regularly drive short distances in town up and down steep hills, so hoping these will be good in snowy conditions.
The car previously had 4 completely different summer tires (1 on each wheel), so anything is an improvement!
