225/75 R17 Tire Review Highlights
Writing about the Cosmo Mud Kicker
rated 50%
I purchased a set of Cosmo Mud Kicker tires for my 2021 Jeep Gladiator through SimpleTire. The tires were professionally installed, rotated, balanced, and maintained throughout their life, with documentation for all maintenance and even a front-end alignment performed only about 500 miles after installation.
Despite that, two of the four tires developed severe cupping, vibration issues, and bald/chopped tread areas long before they should have worn out. The other two tires remained comparatively normal under the exact same driving and maintenance conditions.
I submitted extensive documentation including:
* Installation records
* Rotation and balancing history
* Alignment records
* Full tire photos
* Third-party inspection reports
A VIP Tire inspection report even noted that the tires appeared potentially faulty.
Cosmo/Tire Group International denied the warranty claim anyway, categorizing everything as “vehicle-related irregular wear.” During the process, the responses felt very scripted and focused on denying the claim rather than seriously evaluating the evidence provided. The only “courtesy” offered by the manufacturer was a general public discount code that anyone can find online.
To SimpleTire’s credit, their customer service team remained professional and responsive throughout the process, even though they ultimately had to follow the manufacturer’s decision.
Based on my experience, I will not purchase Cosmo tires or other Tire Group International (TGI) brands again.
