I bought these (x2 fronts) expecting great things. When I finally managed to get hold of a pair (easier said than done as most outlets don't seem to stock Uniroyal's, favouring stocking the ??Continental' range instead), initially I was very pleased. The tread pattern was aggressive; the writing on the tire wall was impressive ('The Rain Tire') ... I couldn't wait to get some miles in; 15,000 (miles) & 12 months later and I'm on the legal limit ... Time for a new set. Did they enhance my enjoyment of driving? Not especially. Am I pleased with Rainsport 2? I was hoping for a few more miles. But, they haven't punctured, and they did cope with all the snow we had in January 2010, so overall, I am reasonably happy. However, I wouldn't go to the same lengths (as I did last time) to get another set. When the time is right, I'll go to my local tire retailer and take whatever premium tires they've got in the size I need.

Good tire, better than the original Bridgestones. Bought based on the ratings left here but overall not impressed. Good grip but wear and noise are unacceptable. Rear tires outer edge tread blocks worn into wedge shapes causing very bad noise, like wheel bearings had failed. Replaced worn fronts with Pilot PS3s and swapped front to back, now front bearings sound worn, but it's the tires!!

Bought to replace both front tires on my 'hot' hatch Corsa 1.8. Found these much grippier than the Eagle F1s were when new (manufacturer fitted). Especially in the wet, grip is highly impressive, although grip in the dry should not be ignored!
My wife also owns a Corsa and these tires far outperform the Continental Sport Contacts and Pirelli P Zero Neros we have used on her car.

As I?m typing this I really am admireing these tires...If it would be by me, I would let them produce this tire for ever :) . It is that good for me...Last year we had a lot of rain in my country and boy did these tires come in handy :) . I mean i dont drive a 500BHP supercar but my little Punto Sporting gets very well with Rainsport 2. I heard that Uniroyal will be making a newer version of Rainsport 2. I just hope that it will be good as this one

This is a review of the tires on the rear of my car.

The grip from these tires on the rear is far superior to that of its predecesor, the rainsport 1. The lack of grip, overly slidey nature has gone, and been replaced with what seems a nice progressive, grippy communicative tire. The tire will slide under hard cornering, or braking hard into a corner, but they will do it in a communicative manner, never out of control. Wet grip of these tires has also been excellent. Obviously not as good as grip in the dry but far better than any other tire i have used up to this point. It has the same handling characteristics in the wet.

The tires in my opinion have not worn brilliantly considering ive only put 9000 miles on them, and they have been on the rear where over bigger miles my previous tires have hardly lost any rubber. My rainsport 2's have lost between 1 and 2mm on different sections of the tire which is more than I expected. The sidewalls of the rainsport 2 are definitely an improvement over the previous generation of rainsport. These are probably the noisiest tire that ive used to date, though personally its not something that bothers me. Ride comfort and feel is excellent though.

My first choice of tire above these would be Michel Pilot Sport 3's. However they dont come in my size, so between my other options I would choose rainsport 2's again.

Have had these tires on my front wheels for 4-6 months and lasted 7,000 -9,000 miles with everyday hard driving, Had twice as much grip as my Nankang NS2 Deathsliders in the wet and dry!!! my front wheel drive car now oversteers around corners which was hard to get used to as i have only ever driven front wheel drive cars that understeer! water dispersal is very good also and beats the AVON ZZ3 tire easily against aqua planing, same water dispersal as GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 GSD2 but beats the GSD3 easily
Grip in dry beats ZZ3 (60% grip compared, Kumho Ecsta (80% grip compared), Falken Rotational (70% grip compared) sorry do not know exact name, Nankang NS2 (55% grip compared)
Wear is worst i have had on any tire though but my last front tires was the Nankang NS2 and they lasted far too long for the abuse i put them through trying to kill them so i could get the horrible things off my car!!!!
All of the fugures above are from what i experienced driving different tires, I cant justify buying the Pirelli P Zero Neros for the extra ?35 as i dont think that they will perform much better than what these already do for me, they have soft sidewalls so buying the xl version is advisable

Easily the best all-round tire that I have ever used. Better than the Excellence, far better than the awful P6000's. The GY Eagle F1's beat them for extreme dry weather performance, but in wet conditions nothing came close.

After a short while using them I *tried* to aquaplane...the deepest puddles; high speeds...before giving up. Just amazing.

I didn't find that the wear was great, but then my car wears out all front tires quickly; it's heavy, torquey, and I use the pedal quite hard. I would say that 10K front and 25K back would see these down to 2mm. Not too bad.

Lateral stability is good with little drift. Pushing them hard into corners gives good feedback.

I'veused them mostly on country A-roads, but with a few thousand miles on motorways too at *around* the speed limit ;)

GREAT TYRES WOULD DIFFENETLY RECOMMEND,ESPECIALLY ON AN AVENSIS

Looked for ages to see what tires were available to suit my budget and car's performance. Uniroyal Rainsport 2's came highly rated, i asked some friends and they too recommended them it appears they are some of the best tires for your money i.e.?70 per corner.
Once fitted and bed in they have made driving a joy again the grip and corning speeds have doubled, after sliding around in the snow and wet the last few weeks these have been a god send.
I found them hard to locate and ended up ordering them in to my local garage.
Give them a go, not just for wet weather !

Thought long and hard before replacing the 4 Contis that came with the Furbie at delivery. Without a doubt, these tires have TRANSFORMED the car. Grip is unbeleivable, although with the recent bad weather & new tires, i've not been anywhere near the limit. Wet braking is outstanding. The ride is MUCH quieter & less harsh due to softer sidewalls. MPG is about the same, which is surprising given they have much more rubber on than my worn out Contis.
BUT .... oh! my! does it roll !!. The Furbie has always needed a rear ARB, & the softer compound of these tires makes the roll seem more pronounced.

Can't comment on the wear as yet; a brilliant tire; would deffo recommend, not at all easy to find, but worth the effort.

Done 8000 on the rear of my beemer now and looking to replace as they have just about had it, only 2-3mm left,a good tire as I have reviewed these before when new.Was hoping to really get more miles out of these but the car has lots of rear end power which only has one way to get to the road.Dont get me wrong these have been great and really grippy you might have a job getting hold of these now as there are only a handful of tire dealers that now import these-shame.
Looking to try something else maybe Falken 452's or my dealer just recomended the new Coopers 2xs which is the new name for Avon by the way !
Let you know what I get decide on later.
