Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Given 41% while driving a Mazda (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 4,000 average miles
On the dry these tires are fine . nothing special but safe . but in the wet they are ridiculous . i genuinely think i will have to change them even though they still have loads of thread in them . ive had the car slide sideways slightly going around bends at normal speeds and just today when i had to hit the brakes the car just kept going like nothing happened . absolutely lethal in the wet . they are comfortable and quiet and seem to be wearing quite well but they are not safe and i would NEVER put them on a car again

Mercedes Benz (215/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
Quieter and more comfortable than any tire I have used, better than even the Goodyear Excellence and Effecient Grip. Get 5mpg better on motorways, which was a surprise. I check tire pressures every month, so I know it is not to do with that. Corners and grips well in wet and dry conditions. As with any tire if you drive sensibly, no problems. Faster in dry, slower in wet.

Very good during cornering, braking. Very good aquaplaning. Very comfortable & quiet. Value for money.

Given 73% while driving a Renault Laguna Phase II (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
Bought these based on the features listed on the Silverstone website. I drive a Laguna and wanted a quiet comfortable tire. That's what I got. These are MUCH quieter and MUCH more comfortable than the Kumho they replaced. I found grip to be good in both dry and wet, but I haven't been rallying! If you're a boy racer you wont want these tires. Thry're quite spongy while cornering and lack a little feedback which the Kumho were good for. They are however quietest most comfortable tires I've ever bought. If it's luxury you want, buy with confidence. If it's sport you want, look else where. I scored the wear based on the compount carachteristics but I've only driven about 1k so far.
