The Dayton Touring 2 has repeatedly finished below most rivals, with braking and wet handling the main limitations. In the 2019 Moottori mid-range test it was last of eight overall and in both braking disciplines, with dry stopping 4.5% longer than the best and wet stopping 10.4% longer. Wet handling was seventh of eight, matching the testers' criticism of poor wet behavior. Auto Bild also found substantial wet-braking deficits: 36th of 45 measured results, 25.8% longer than the best, in its 2019 shootout, and 42nd of 49, 29.6% longer, in the 2020 market overview.
Aquaplaning was a more acceptable aspect in the Moottori test, ranking fourth of eight, though still 7.4% behind the best. Rolling resistance was also fourth of eight, while noise was fifth. These middle-ranking results did not offset weak grip. The 2018 Auto Navigator comparison was particularly poor, with last place overall, 16th of 17 in dry braking and last of 17 in wet braking; dry and wet handling were both 15th of 17. Its dry braking is sometimes closer to the field than its wet braking, but none of these tests establishes a consistent stopping advantage.
