Performance Analysis

Drawn from 10 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Continental WinterContact TS830 finished on the podium in nine of ten tests from 2009 to 2011, with wet-road performance a recurring strength. It was second of 12 and rated Exemplary by Auto Bild in 2010, which praised wet handling and aquaplaning resistance; AMS also praised both in its 2010 third-of-ten result. ACE ranked it third of eight in 2011, noting that it led the wet and dry assessments, while AMS placed it second of 14 that year and highlighted wet handling, short wet stops and low noise.

Snow performance was strong but less uniform. AMS's 2009 comparison put it first of five with 98 of 100 snow points, and ADAC's 2010 third-of-12 result brought top snow marks and praise for wear. Yet AMS criticised limited snow traction in 2010 and ACE found snow performance held it back in 2011, unusual exceptions to the stronger snow verdicts. Dry braking also varied unusually: Auto Zeitung praised it among the best in its 2010 win against 12 rivals, whereas AMS said dry stopping distances were not optimal in 2011. Auto Bild's 2010 comfort assessment was only moderate. The record is therefore consistently strong overall, especially on wet roads, without every test agreeing on snow traction or dry braking.
