The Tire Reviews Score is the most comprehensive tire scoring system available. It aggregates professional test data from multiple independent publications, user reviews, and consistency analysis using Bayesian statistical methods, weighted normalisation, and recency-adjusted scoring to produce a single, reliable performance rating.

Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Given 66% while driving a Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 litre TS Sp3 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 2,000 miles

Given 43% while driving a Dodge ram 1500 (275/65 R20) on mostly motorways for 1,000 average miles
3 of 4 tires were satisfactory. One tire was almost impossible to balance. Quality control is not important in China.

Given 40% while driving a Mercedes Benz CLS63S (245/45 R19) on a combination of roads for 4,000 spirited miles
Absolutely do not buy! I got these tires for my beater rims and only in 4000 miles I got a massive bulge in one of them. The tires handled ok in the dry and surprisingly decent for noise level. However, the wet grip is abominable and potholes feels like I crashed the car. For the price is ok but please save your rims because they have no cushioning effects and directly translated damage to my rims and got one of them cracked.

Given 57% while driving a Hyundai Elantra GT Sport (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 58,000 spirited miles
Bought the car 2nd hand and these were fitted from original. Car has done 58,000klms. Just rotated tires and perhaps have 3mths left. Seem to have good grip and don't protest when driven hard and seem predictable in the wet. Relatively quiet but provide a hard ride and had to lower pressures to improve comfort. No discernible understeer when driven hard into corners, but could be more precise in road feel and feedback. Would I buy these tires, probably not as I feel I could definitely get better, but then again you have to pay more for that. To be honest, for a cheap Chinese tire, they perform better than expected.

Given 57% while driving a Opel Astra H CDTI (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
Got them fitted last year, and the tire is..just fine, nothing more. It does decent in both dry and wet, road feedback is okay. For the price that I paid, honestly I didn't expect anything more out of it. Wear is okay, which is expected since as it started to wear down, it become more like plastic, less like a rubber. Wouldn't buy it again if I'm honest, I just don't trust these tires at all.
