Best HT All Season Tires for 2026 Tested! P6 of 7

The Westlake SU318 HT was included as I thought it would highlight how bad cheap tires are, which it did to a point, but it was WAY better than I expected it to be. That said, it was still last overall in the wet, last overall in snow, last overall in dirt, the worst subjective comfort, the highest rolling resistance. But it was the fastest around the dry handling lap! The value result really helped not finish in last place overall, And honestly while it isn't a great tire, assuming it doesn't wear out very quickly, it does present a somewhat interesting value proposition.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Westlake SU318 HT repeatedly combines relatively low external noise with weak wet braking, high rolling resistance and poor comfort. In the 2026 Tire Reviews highway-terrain all-season test it finished sixth of seven overall, but last in wet braking, snow traction, dirt handling, subjective comfort and rolling resistance. Wet stopping took 59.74 meters, 9.1% longer than the best, and snow acceleration was 45.1% behind the leader. External noise led the field at 72.4 dB. Rolling resistance was 34.4% above the best, while testers found it the hardest tire to drive cleanly in the wet.

Its dry-handling win in 2026 was unusual: in the 2021 Tire Reviews SUV comparison it was last of nine in dry braking and handling, as well as wet braking and handling. That earlier field was a summer-tire comparison, while the tester noted its North American all-season positioning; the 2026 highway-terrain field is a different context. Aquaplaning was weak in both tests. Low price and the best warranty-based cost-per-mile score helped its 2026 overall result, but that calculation is not measured tread life. In 2021, external noise was fourth of nine and praised, whereas comfort was last, so quiet pass-by noise should not be confused with a smooth ride.

Once again the cheapest tire on test, performed the worst, however it's worth noting, while this tire was sold as a summer tire when shopping for the test, it is marketed as an all season tire in north america, meaning it's likely to have a higher level of snow performance than the other eight tires which could explain some of the offset in the dry and wet.
