Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Top 3 Kumho Izen RV KC15 Reviews

Given 77% while driving a Hyundai 2011 Santa Fe CM 4x4 (235/60 R18) on mostly country roads for 28,000 easy going miles
Tested many times on different kinds of snow and always performed very well. The traction with AWD is surprisingly good and allows very secure pretty fast driving. Always safe on snowy descents, where the weight of the vehicle is your worst enemy, because the sideways behavior is reasonably grippy. Still have 4,5 mm after 28000 miles. One more winter and they're over.

Given 81% while driving a Toyota Landcruiser (265/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 5,000 spirited miles
We have these tires on both our 4x4s, specifically an Audi A6 all-road and a Toyota Landcruiser, driven predominantly on country roads with occasional motorway journeys. Very pleased with performance, braking, and grip in ice /snow. Road noise no worse than original summer tires, and wear is very even, the tires are much more resilient than expected (in fact, we haven't bothered putting the summer tires back on). I plan to put these on my new Landcruiser for the forthcoming winter.

Given 80% while driving a Dodge Journey (225/65 R17 H) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
Absolutely perfect tires for temperatures bellow 7°C. Confident on dry and wet road. Breaking and handling are exquisite. As it concerns snow performance - the best winter SUV tires for deep snow, snow-covered asphalt and ice. No compromise with winter traction. Noise comfort is surprisingly good having in mind the lable that claimed they are very noisy tires. Hardly hear them bellow 100 km/h. Michelin and Continental winter tires with their commercial campaigns just seem ridiculous. They are more expensive in a way they cannot live up to their higher price in terms of winter performance. I claim the Kumho KC 15 are even better in the snow and ice.

Given 79% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
Very good tire in the snow, i have driven through upto 2 feet with no issues at all. Good grip in the wet and dry, far quieter and better ride that my summer continetal tires. Cant say to much about the wear rate as i have only driven about 500 miles on them. All in all a very good winter tire which i would buy again.
