The Tire Reviews Score is the most comprehensive tire scoring system available. It aggregates professional test data from multiple independent publications, user reviews, and consistency analysis using Bayesian statistical methods, weighted normalisation, and recency-adjusted scoring to produce a single, reliable performance rating.

Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

With a score of 8.4, the Gislaved offers solid performance, particularly in dry conditions and at moderate speeds. Its wet handling is adequate but falls behind the leaders when pushed hard. The tire provides neutral steering characteristics and predictable behavior, making it user-friendly for everyday drivers. While not excelling in any particular area, it delivers reliable performance across a range of conditions without major weaknesses.

Latest Gislaved Ultra Speed 2 Reviews

Given 79% while driving a Nissan almera gti (195/50 R16 V) on mostly country roads for 4,500 average miles
Having used the Ultra Speed 1 version, I 've noticed a significant improvement in dry handling, whereas the wet grip is just a step below its predecessor. Regarding my car is a Nissan Almera-Pulsar N15 with SR20DE (143hp) front wheel drive - no ABS. Ultra Speed's 2 side walls are pretty hard, providing a nice feel during aggressive driving. Another improvement is dry braking (remember, no ABS) where wheel locking is reduced significantly, having in mind that I live in Greece, where asphalt quality lacks of grip.
Compared to Nokian Line, Ultra Speed 2 informs way before sliding, driving aggressively on b-roads.
Only "con" is the tread wears quite faster than Nokian Line, but the same as Ultra Speed 1.
Tire pressures: F/R 35/32, car weight: 1140kg.
I would buy it again, cause its price beats tread wear.
