these have lasted 38,000 miles on a heavy BMW 330diesel,
(they are not totally out of tread, but i want new ones before the winter)
they tram line like no other tire i have used, for that reason i shall not be buying them again, they are on the noisy side as well.

I have just replaced the front two Continentals on my 1.8 tdci Ford Mondeo after covering 24,000 miles. This was over an even mixture of town and motorway driving and included a 12,000 mile rotation from front to back.

Performance wise the tires are brilliant, Being a 1.8 derv I didn't think the tires would really be pushed to their limit however they provide what appears to be endless amounts of grip when being thrashed around country lanes. In the wet they are just as good, giving plently of feedback allowing you to know when you're reaching the limit.

Unfortunately comfort does suffer, the Continentals tram line awfully, they also provide an annoying amount of tire roar at high speed. I have replaced the two front tires with Falken FK453's as I couldn't justify spending £200 per corner on tires so close to Christmas.

With the Falkens being £70 cheaper each I thought the ride would suffer significantly however just after 100 miles with the Falkens I have noticed a smoother ride, less roar and that the tram lining has all but disappeared. Also I am £140 better off. Overall the Continentals are impressive tires, however they are wasted on a diesel Mondeo and are much more suited to your performance end of the spectrum.

34,000 miles and estimate another 3-4 thousand before changing. Generally very good.
But - oh so noisy!

If the tires could be quietened without loss of performance or wear, they would be perfect ; as it is - I am looking for a tire of similar performance but quieter.

These have so far lasted 18K of mainly mixed town and motorway driving. My car kicks out approx 270 BHP and I have 20 inch alloys. When these tires were put on the tracking wheel alignment etc was done to the correct spec of the car as I wanted to avoid uneven tire wear.

So far I must say these have been brilliant by far the longest wearing tires I have had on any of my cars. I was apprehensive with 20 inch tires as they cost almost 300 quid and I have heard they don’t last very long.

Well if you drive like a twat most of the time, have your car lowered to the stupid extreme, drive it like you stole it then yes they will perish in next to no time. But if you look after your car and rims and drive sensibly then yes these tires will and can last.

I have approx 5mm on the front and the rears are down to about 4mm, the handling in the dry is as good as it can get but in the wet these tires have been great and offer tons of grip without getting silly.

I am looking to do a re-map to up the power to 310 BHP and then things should get interesting.

I am definitely going to get another set.

These were standard fitting on a Skoda Superb 1.4 tsi. Very good life overall having covered over 37,000 miles before needing to replace the fronts after hitting a deep pot hole. (Front and rears swapped 20,000 miles). I tend to accelerate modestly and plan ahead, aiming to reduces stresses on the car as a whole.
Good grip in the dry with seemingly little need to correct steering input mid-corner. Wet weather performance a little worse bit still quite good. Pleasantly surprised with the feedback, so that I know what the front end is doing all the time. Very even wear on all 4 tires. Tire noise and roar seems a little too loud over many different surfaces and tiresome on longer motorway journeys 200+ miles.
Overall it's a tire which suits the lower-powered (122ps) Skoda Superb quite well. Long tire life, very good feedback and dry weather performance. Good comfort but can be a tad noisy.

I have little experience with other tires, but I realy like the feeling of driving my golf in this tires, both in the wet and in the dry. The tires have done 65.000km rotating every 20.000km, so i'm happy with my choice, I will probably buy another set for my car.

had these as standard fitment on my vrs, only lasted 9,000 miles on the fronts, although previous vrs came with dunlop sport maxx's which only done 8k on the front , they're quite good when new to half worn but really begin to lose performance once beyond that, now running michellin pilot sport 3's very good so far but still new, will see how they progress

Although a good tire for grip in dry and wet and lasted well the noise would put me off buying these again. Constant loud whine/hum when at speed. Really
spoils a long journey. Many people would return them unlike me who foolishly thought they would improve with wear!

If you get these and they are recently made, be aware that for the first 5,000km or so they are very, very soft and have excellent grip. You really notice the performance drop off after this but they are still good. Be sure to rotate front to back at 2,500km, then again at 5,000km, especially if a FWD car. They will last you twice as long if you do. I didn't and got only 20,000km out of the front, but over 30,000km out of the rear. Until warmed up (5-10 minutes), like a lot of performance tires, you feel like the tires are full of bumps, but it goes away. Quite noisy on very coarse bitumen when new, not so much after 10,000km. I'd get them again, especially as the price has dropped since being superseded.

Only got 23000 miles before they wore down to 3mm. At this stage they became pretty scary in wet weather. Grip in both wet and dry are good but at the 10,000 miles stage these tires looked pretty worn and I don't drive the car hard. You also feel every single vibration through the steering wheel.

Over 33,800km with the original tires with very spirited driving on a Ford XR5 (ST) in Sydney. I will be replacing 2 tires tomorrow so I will let you know how long the other two last for. Will probably replace with the Contact 3 but I would definitely recommend the Contact 2...
