  • 10,500 miles
Very noisy, like the wheel bearings were shot. Very soft compound, the sidewalls were all scrubbed even when driving normally, so I had to put about 4~6PSI over the usual, but the real bad thing was that they wear out abnormally fast, they were on TWI after just 10500 miles/17000Km and in that time I had 3 bubbles on the sidewall that quickly punctured and required vulcanising. It wasn't a high performance car, it wasn't driven like I stole it but the three sets of Michelin Energy Saver and XM2 that preceded those Continentals lasted about 37300 miles/60000 kilometers.

Upside: the grip is outstanding. Both dry and wet. Downside: 1- Sidewalls are weak. Hit a pothole and you'll need a new tire. 2- Sidewalls are extra soft. Feels like you have a way softer suspension. Not a good feeling for sporty tires. I used to inflate a few psi over to get the handling ok. 3- wear very fast. 20k km on the rear axle of an fwd and it was on twi. Conclusion: you get a fair amount of grip, but the subjective handling is shit. And very low km/$. Wouldn't recommend.

Not the best for sport cars like Golf GTI, the handling is terrible, feels like having softer suspension, grip on the other hand is great for fast acceleration..

I think this is not a winter tire, I believe this is a summer tire. I feel very confident driving the car with DW. Very grippy.
