Best HT All Season Tires for 2026 Tested! P7 of 7

In last place was the Yokohama Geolander HT G056. Sadly it never really recovered from its wet performance where it really struggled, and the story was mostly the same in the snow too. In fact, it wasn't super comfortable, it had a high rolling resistance, and its warranted price per 1000 miles was also on the higher side. Not a great test for this tire, I've come to expect more from Yokohama but at this point it is a very old tire.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

Wet and snow performance limited the Yokohama Geolandar HT G056 to seventh of seven in the 2026 Tire Reviews highway-terrain all season test, in 265/65 R18. Wet handling was last, 8.4% slower than the best, and snow handling was also last, 4.7% behind. Wet braking was fifth, 7.1% longer than the shortest distance, while snow traction was sixth and 35% behind the best. The testers described most wet and snow results as below average, so the weak overall finish was not driven by one isolated discipline.

Dry-road results were the main exception: second in handling, only 1% off the best, and third in braking, 2.3% longer than the shortest stop. Noise was also relatively low at third of seven. Those merits were offset by fifth-place comfort and sixth-place rolling resistance, the latter 28.5% above the best. The warranty-based cost per 1,000 miles was sixth too, so the low overall placing did not come with a strong value result. Dirt performance was mixed, with second for subjective handling but sixth on lap time. This is one test, so the balance of strengths and weaknesses has not been checked across several independent comparisons.
