Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Yokohama Geolandar AT4 has useful snow-stopping performance but less convincing snow acceleration and road manners in Tire Rack comparisons. In the 2026 snow and ice comparison it was sixth of 30 in snow braking, only 5.9% longer than the best, but 23rd in snow traction, 30.3% behind. Drivers rated its snow handling 20th of 30, while ice braking and traction were near the middle. The tire was tested in LT load range E construction, which matters when applying these results to other versions. In the 2024 on-road comparison it finished last of 12 overall, despite the fourth-fastest snow lap, just 3.5% behind the best.

Road weaknesses included dry braking, tenth of 12 at 42.98 meters, 11.9% longer than the best, and wet handling, ninth of 12 and 11.3% slower. Testers described sluggish steering, poor wet behavior and erratic ABS intervention. Comfort was tenth of 12 and subjective noise ninth, although the ride was described as firm but composed. There is an unusual conflict within the dry results: the dry-circle measurement is listed second of 12, while the testers described weak dry grip. That isolated measurement should not obscure the braking and steering limitations. Wet braking was closer to the middle, seventh of 12, rather than a clear strength.
