Performance Analysis
Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.
The Radar Dimax R8 finished below most of the field in two Auto Bild summer braking comparisons: 47th of 51 overall in 2017 and 35th of 50 in 2020. The 2020 test in 245/45 R18 recorded 36.7 m in both dry and wet braking. That placed it 38th of 49 in the dry, 14.3% longer than best, and 39th in the wet, 27.9% longer.
The later overall placing was better, but still did not establish competitive stopping performance. Wet braking had the larger relative deficit in 2020. The 2017 result has no individual stopping distances or discipline positions, so it cannot establish whether wet or dry braking drove that placing. Neither comparison identifies a balancing handling, comfort, noise or wear strength.
