Triumph 2022 Rocket 3R
(240/55 R16)
on a combination of roads
for 11,000 spirited miles
Swapped out the Cobra Chromes that came with my Rocket 3R at 4500Km after a slick bit of tarseal took me and the bike down (Certain NZ Roads are shite in the wet)
Fitted 888 Marathon Ultra's front and back. Got good mileage out of them. Just replaced the rear at 18000KM (Thats how many K's i got out of it) as it was a bit slick(Spun up nicely whenever pulling away!!). Front still has fair bit of tread to go.
Considering the torque of the beast these tires have surpassed my expectations. Summer time grip is great. Winter time.....well just ride to the conditions!
Its good to always read reviews but really at the end of the day it all comes down to rider experience, type of bike and road conditions

Absolutely terrible performance. Odd wear pattern. I commute 100 miles per day. All country roads. No city. 3700 miles and the front is in bald condition.

Honda Honda Valkyrie F6CT
(180/70 R16)
on a combination of roads
for 4,000 easy going miles
Fitted the 180 Rear 4000 miles ago & the 150 Front 2500 miles ago for my F6CT and I am disgusted with both of them. German made tires! The bike has had the forks serviced and new 440 Progressive shock fitted 18,000 miles ago. The rear tire has high feathering and cupping and the front has feathering and cupping already, Another problem was the fact that I couldn't balance the front tire after three attempts. That along with the fact that they have to be the noisiest tires from "new" that I have ever had the displeasure to endure. I thought I had bearings gone (newbies fitted with the tires) and it was upon checking them that to my horror I saw the state of the tires. I got onto Metzeler last October and they wanted me to send the front tire back and for me to wait 6 weeks for a replacement "IF IT WAS FOUND TO BE FAULTY" "BY THEM"! That wasn't possible (fabulous weather after months of rain) nor was it possible in winter (long story). I am driving bikes for 45 years and have had all sorts of tires on and although I have seen feathering and cupping it wasn't until reaching near end of life. This is the first time I fitted Metzeler because I heard they were a long wearing tire but the reviews must have been posted by the company themselves. My tires speak for them selves!! I would go back to any of my previous choices (8,000 miles +) BUT I WILL NEVER BUY Metzeler AGAIN. I am dumbfounded that a German company could manufacture such rubbish.
I am absolutely disgusted with these junk tires and the headache they have caused. PURE AND UTTER GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

REAR 2006 VULCAN 1600 . 300 miles in, very good wet performance, very comfortable. Much better than previous Bridgestone, but I did get 11,000 miles from it.
