Performance Analysis
Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.
The Gripmax SureGrip Pro Winter has substantial wet-braking gaps to the leaders in both recorded Auto Bild braking tests, although its relative placing was much better in 2026. In the 2023 Winter Tire Test 54 Set Braking Test, in 225/45 R18, it finished 46th of 54 overall and for wet braking, stopping in 40.6 m, 29.3% from best. In the 2026 Winter Tire Braking Test - 50 Sets, in 245/45 R19, it was 25th of 50 overall and 23rd for wet braking at 40.8 m, 23.6% from best.
The improved field position is notable, but it does not remove the large wet-stopping margin, and the different sizes limit direct comparison of distances. Snow braking was much closer to the leader in 2026, at 29.8 m and 3.1% from best, despite ranking 20th of 30. That relatively small gap is not evidence of a leading snow result. No award or written tester verdict is recorded, and these braking assessments do not establish handling, comfort, wear or ice performance.
