Top Tire Review 2026 Tesla Model 3 EV Tire Test P1 of 3

The Giti Control P10 is the clear overall winner and the best-balanced tire for the Tesla Model 3 in this test. That a value-brand original-equipment tire leads on wet grip, dry handling and efficiency all at once says a great deal about how far Giti has come.

Strong: Dry Braking, Dry Handling, Subj. Dry Handling, Wet Braking, Wet Handling, Subj. Wet Handling, Rolling Resistance Weak: Noise, Rough Noise

Record by discipline

Where the Giti Control P10 finished in each measured discipline, across every test that measured it against at least two other tires. Field beaten is the share of the other tires it outranked in that measurement.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated August 2, 2026.

Across two summer tests, the Giti Control P10 shows a clear, repeatable pattern of class-leading wet performance, translating into a 1st/3 overall win in the 2026 Tesla Model 3 EV tire test and a strong 2nd/6 overall in the 2023 APAC test (average overall position 1.5). The tire repeatedly tops objective wet metrics (braking and handling) and also scores very well subjectively in wet steering/feel, indicating both outright grip and usable control.

Dry-road performance is generally competitive rather than dominant: it can lead in dry handling in one test but sits closer to the upper-middle in a larger group. The main trade-offs are refinement/efficiency related-noise is consistently toward the back of the group, and rolling resistance is notably inconsistent (excellent in the 2026 EV test but poor in the 2023 APAC test), suggesting performance may vary by spec, test environment, or measurement methodology.

Performance Strengths

  • Wet Weather Performance (Wet braking/handling & subjective wet control) Strong
    Details
    • 1st place wet braking (32.7 m) and 1st place wet handling (30.8 s) in 2026 Top Tire Review Tesla Model 3 EV test; also 1st in subjective wet handling (7 points), described as 'sweeping all three wet tests'
    • 1st place wet braking (17.91 m) and 1st place wet handling (26.1 s) in 2023 APAC test; 2nd in subjective wet handling (7.5 points, +2.6% from best)
  • Overall Competitiveness / Test Results Strong
    Details
    • Overall winner (1st/3) in the 2026 Tesla Model 3 EV tire test
    • 2nd/6 overall in the 2023 APAC test (average overall position 1.5 across two tests)
  • Dry Handling Capability Moderate
    Details
    • 1st place dry handling (30.4 s) and 1st subjective dry handling (7 points) in 2026 Tesla Model 3 EV test
    • 3rd/6 dry handling in 2023 APAC test (28.3 s, +5.2% from best) and 3rd subjective dry handling (7.3 points, +1.4%)
  • Dry handling Strong in 1 of 1 tests
    Details
  • Rolling resistance Strong in 1 of 1 tests
    Details
  • Wet grip Strong in 1 of 1 tests
    Details

Performance Weaknesses

  • Rolling Resistance / Efficiency Consistency Moderate
    Details
    • 5th/6 rolling resistance in 2023 APAC test (8.6 kg/t, +10.3% from best)
    • 1st/3 rolling resistance in 2026 Tesla Model 3 EV test (5.5 kg/t), indicating large cross-test variability
  • Noise / Refinement Moderate
    Details
    • Last (3rd/3) in noise (69.6 dB, +1% from best) and last (3rd/3) in rough noise (82.8 dB, +1.2%) in 2026 Tesla Model 3 EV test
    • Only mid-pack in 2023 APAC test: 3rd/6 noise (70.4 dB, +0.9%) and 4th/6 noise (72.7 dB, +1.4%), plus 3rd subjective noise (7.15 points, +1.4%)
  • Aquaplaning Resistance (Straight-line) Minor
    Details
    • 4th/6 in straight aquaplaning in 2023 APAC test (76.74 km/h, +1% from best)
    • Wet grip remains excellent (1st wet braking and 1st wet handling in 2023), suggesting the weakness is more about deep-water stability than general wet traction
