Performance Analysis
Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.
Long wet braking distances are the consistent weakness of the Fronway Fronwing AS across its two 2024 all season tests. It finished 32nd of 37 in Auto Bild's All Season Tire Market Overview, where wet braking was 34th, 43.6% behind the best. In Tire Reviews' The Best All Season Tires for 2024 it finished last of seven, with the longest wet stopping distance, 46.7% behind the best. Wet handling was also last, 15.8% slower than the best, and both aquaplaning disciplines were last. The testers called the wet grip dangerously low and rejected the idea that its low price made it a good all season purchase.
Snow braking and timed snow handling were better, both third of seven in the Tire Reviews test, just 1.7% and 1.6% behind the best respectively. That supports the testers' snow praise, but snow traction itself was last, so the strength does not extend to every snow discipline. Dry performance is less consistent: braking was 16th of 37 in Auto Bild's larger field but sixth of seven for Tire Reviews, where dry handling was last and dry grip criticised. Its snow results and low purchase price therefore sit alongside substantial wet-road limitations.

The Best All Season Tires for 2024
For the price, the Fronway Fronwing AS was awesome in the snow. But as this is an all season tire test, and it it had extremely low wet grip, it does not make it a good all season purchase. The Fronway is one of the worst tires I've had in the wet for a while.
