The Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA is the most balanced tire in the test. Although it has the shallowest tread depth when new, this doesn't negatively impact its aquaplaning characteristics. In fact, it performs well in all disciplines and, with the exception of the gravel traction test, is always at least in the upper midfield. The Falken shows no real weaknesses and is even the best tire on wet surfaces.

Across two all-season all-terrain comparative tests, the Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA shows clear overall competitiveness (average overall position 1.5), including a test win and a runner-up finish. The most consistent pattern is strong on-road wet performance with frequent top-3 placements in braking, cornering and aquaplaning measures, helping it score highly overall despite some notable compromises.

Its main trade-offs are winter performance that trends mid-pack to lower-mid pack versus the best tires in these tests, plus some refinement/off-road inconsistencies depending on the metric: noise was near the bottom in the 2024 test, and one key off-road traction metric (gravel traction) was last in the 2025 ADAC test even though it was excellent on gravel in the other test. Overall, it looks like a wet-biased A/T that can be very capable off-road in some conditions, but is not a class leader in snow and can be comparatively coarse.

Best All Terrain Tires Tested On Road, Off Road and Snow [2024]

Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3 WA was one of the most well-rounded tires in the test. Dry road performance showed good handling characteristics and steering response, though braking distances were slightly longer than the best. Where it really impressed was in wet conditions - it proved to be the safest AT tire in the wet with good braking, strong aquaplaning resistance and predictable handling. Snow performance was good across the board with strong grip levels in all disciplines. Offroad capability was excellent, particularly standing out in mud and on gravel surfaces where it showed class-leading grip. Rolling resistance was reasonable for an AT tire at 9.0 kg/t. While noise levels were on the higher side at 73.4 dB, comfort levels were good with effective bump absorption. This tire ultimately won the offroad category and proved to be one of the most versatile options tested.
