- Nissan Rogue Platinum 2023
- 235/55 R19
- 8,306 miles
These 235/55R19 Dunlop Grand Trek PT21 tires were OEM on my 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum. I live just outside Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The tires were driven on from June 2023 until they were swapped out for all-weather tires in October of 2025 at exactly 13,367 km (8,306 miles), experiencing no traction issues summer or winter with my all-wheel-drive SUV. I'm not what would be called an enthusiast driver; I just want to get to where I'm going with no fuss. Handling and braking on dry roads was fine, ditto for wet. We went to Vancouver Island on one trip and consequently drove through quite a bit of rain on the highways with no issues. Absolutely the only complaint I would have about these tires is that from the original 8/32" tread when new, after only 8300 miles the tread was down to 5/32". You can see from the low mileage over 2+ years that I don't drive a lot. But here in Sherwood Park we get all the winter weather Edmonton gets. Main routes are quite well maintained but secondary routes in the residential areas can see lots of snow build up with deep ruts and slick intersections from cars pulling away from stop signs or lights. Again I had no problems through 2 winters. I was surprised to find out how worn the tires were. If you follow the rule of thumb to replace tires when the tread gets to 4/32" then these tires would need replacing at 12,000 miles or less. My recommendation would be that the Dunlop Grand Trek PT21 are quite satisfactory for year round use until about 5/32" tread. I assume that the somewhat rapid wear is a reflection of the softer tire needed for decent grip in the winter. For replacement, I probably would look for either a premium all-weather tire for AWD or dedicated winter tires for FWD for an area with tough winters like we get in northern Alberta. If these come OEM on your AWD vehicle, you are good to go for at least one winter, depending on how fast you rack up the miles.
