Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Achilles ATR Sport 2 has finished near the bottom in both summer comparisons, with wet braking a repeated weakness. It was 51st of 53 in Auto Bild's 2021 braking test and last of 20 in Auto Zeitung's 2020 full test. Wet stopping distances were 38.5% behind the best in 2021 and 18.8% behind in 2020, with placings of 51st of 53 and 18th of 20 respectively. Auto Zeitung also found the slowest wet handling time, 15.2% behind the best, and the lowest subjective wet handling score. It described the wet lateral stability as a safety issue.

Dry braking was also below the field's stronger performers: 39th of 53 in 2021, 12.6% behind the best, and 18th of 20 in 2020, with an 8.5% gap. Auto Zeitung placed dry handling 17th and criticised an unstable rear, while straight aquaplaning was 19th of 20. Noise was the notable measured positive, third of 20, although the testers did not name an overall positive in their verdict. Comfort and rolling resistance were below mid-field. This leaves low noise as an isolated result alongside repeated braking limitations and substantial handling concerns in the full test.
