Semperit AllSeason Grip vs Vredestein Quatrac

This head-to-head pits Semperit's AllSeason Grip, a value-orientated touring all-season tire, against Vredestein's Quatrac, a premium-touring benchmark that consistently scores near the top of independent tests. Across three shared tests in 16-18-inch fitments, the Quatrac repeatedly outruns the Semperit on dry and wet braking and posts stronger aquaplaning resistance and efficiency.
Yet the story flips in true winter metrics. The Semperit counters with notably shorter stopping on snow and ice plus stronger snow traction, offering drivers in colder, snow-prone regions a tangible edge. The result is a classic split: Vredestein excels in year-round safety and longevity, while Semperit provides reassuring bite when temperatures plunge.

Best Review for the Vredestein Quatrac
Given 77% 205/55 R16 on a combination of roads for 7 spirited miles
They grip surprisingly well for an all season tire in the dry and snow. I have these mounted on a 8th generation Honda civic sedan with the r18 engine and these tires have me absolutely glued to the ground. I replaced my old Goodyear eagle "all season" tire which had the snow performance of a summer tire in the snow and didn't even preform well in wet or dry. But back to the vredestein, I once was screwing around (dry, 65°f) taking a highway exchang ramp a bit too fast, I hit one rather sharp bend at probably 55+mph and didn't break traction for a second, no tire squeal or anything. Conclusion

The Vredestein Quatrac is the more rounded, higher-ranked performer: top-5/30 and 5/37 in two broad-market tests and consistently shorter dry braking (by roughly 8-10%) and wet braking (about 6-7%), plus better straight and curved aquaplaning. It also wins on wear (+28% projected mileage), fuel use, and lower abrasion, strengthening its long-term value case despite its premium positioning.
Semperit's AllSeason Grip answers with convincing winter grip: best-in-set snow braking and meaningful advantages in snow traction and ice braking. If your winters bring frequent snow and ice and you prioritize cold-weather stopping over ultimate dry/wet precision, the Semperit's strengths are compelling. For most mixed-climate drivers seeking balanced safety, stability, and durability across the year, the Vredestein remains the safer, more economical bet over a tire's life.
Key Differences
  • Dry braking: Quatrac stops ~8-10% shorter across sizes
  • Wet braking: Quatrac stops ~6-7% shorter
  • Aquaplaning: Quatrac leads in straight and curved tests
  • Winter grip: Semperit wins snow braking, snow traction, and ice braking
  • Durability: Quatrac projects ~28% longer mileage with lower abrasion
  • Efficiency: Quatrac uses less fuel; Semperit is marginally lighter

Footnote

This page has been developed using tire industry testing best practices. This means we are only comparing tests which have had both tires in the same test.

Why is this important? Tire testing is heavily affected by things like surface grip levels and surface temperature, which means you can only compare values from the same day. During a tire test external condition changes are calculated into the overall results, but it is not possible to calculate this between tire tests performed on different days or at different locations.

As a result you will see other tests on Tire Reviews which feature both the %s and %s, but as they weren't conducted on the same day, the results are not comparable.

Lots of other websites do this sort of tire comparison, Tire Reviews doesn't.
