The Westlake SL369 was one of the surprises of the test. I used it as a reference tire in wet handling and it performed very well, finishing near the front in wet braking, wet handling and straight aquaplaning. It also produced a low measured noise result, even though subjectively it was the noisiest and least comfortable tire in the group. The trade-off was clear away from wet tarmac: snow traction was weak, subjective snow handling was down the order, and it lacked the dirt support and purchase of the better all-terrain tires. It suits road-biased drivers wanting strong wet grip, but not those prioritising comfort or serious off-road feel.

The Westlake SL369 finished fourth of seven overall in Tire Reviews' 2026 all-terrain test, with its best results on wet roads. Wet braking and handling were both third of eight in the measured results, while straight aquaplaning resistance was second. The testers praised all three, making wet-road behavior a clearer strength than its overall placing alone suggests. Warranty-based cost per 1,000 miles was also second of eight, although that is not a measured tread-life result. These findings come from one test in 265/70 R17.

Comfort and noise were the main road compromises. Both subjective scores were last of eight, even though measured noise was second lowest at 54.62 dB; the low sound measurement therefore did not match the intrusive impression from the driver's seat. Snow traction was seventh of eight, 29.8% from best, and subjective snow handling was also seventh. On dirt, the timed lap was only 1.8% from best, but subjective handling was last, with the testers criticising its support and purchase. Rolling resistance was sixth of seven, 20.7% from best. The result points towards road-biased use where wet grip matters more than ride comfort, snow traction or off-road feel.
