Performance Analysis

Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Toyo Observe G3 Ice finished 11th of 17 in Consumer Reports' 2020 North America Winter Tire Test, in 215/60 R16. The testers praised its snow traction and stopping grip on ice, and rated rolling resistance Excellent. Those are useful strengths for a winter tire, despite the modest overall placing.

Noise was the clear compromise, rated Poor and described as near the bottom of the field. This single test supports a tire with good snow and ice capability and low rolling resistance, but weak noise refinement. There are no individual distances or discipline placings to quantify the grip advantages, or enough detail to judge wet-road behavior, dry handling or tread life.
