Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Nexen Winguard Sport 3 is consistently quiet in its two 2026 tests, but grip varies sharply. Auto Bild Sportscars placed it ninth of 12 and rated it satisfactory, while AvD placed it eighth of 15 and rated it good. It had the lowest pass-by noise with Auto Bild Sportscars and shared the best noise score with AvD. Comfort was also favorable, particularly in AvD's scoring, and AvD ranked its cost per kilometer second of 15. These are firmer patterns than its mixed braking and efficiency results.

Wet braking was second among winter tires with Auto Bild Sportscars but 12th of 15 with AvD, an unusually weak result that contradicts the other test. Dry braking moved the other way, from last in Auto Bild Sportscars to seventh of 15 with AvD. AvD's third-place snow braking and praise for control also contrast with lower-half snow results in the other comparison. Auto Bild Sportscars found the weakest curved aquaplaning and near-bottom straight aquaplaning, imposing a safety penalty. Rolling resistance ranged from low there to above average with AvD. The quiet ride is therefore more consistent than a claim of strong grip in any particular condition.
