Performance Analysis
Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.
The Landsail Qirin 990 combined good dry braking and low noise with weak handling in its single independent comparison, the 2021 ViBilagare Summer Tire Test. It finished seventh of eight overall in 225/45 R17, despite second place for dry braking at 34.1 meters, just 1.2% behind the best. Subjective noise was also second, supporting the testers' low-noise praise, while comfort was third. These were useful individual results, but they did not translate into an equally strong balance of grip and response around a circuit.
Dry handling was seventh of eight, 1.5% slower than the best, and the testers called it poor. Wet handling was also seventh, 2.9% behind, with understeer noted; wet braking was fifth, 9.2% behind the shortest stop. Straight aquaplaning was the clearest wet weakness, last of eight, and specifically criticised. The distinction is therefore between straight-line dry stopping and refinement on one hand, and handling and standing-water resistance on the other. With only this test, none of these findings establishes a repeated pattern across sizes or years.
