The Landsail LS588 UHP struggled for balance across both tests. Testers repeatedly criticised its handling and resistance to aquaplaning: Test World described it as unstable in the wet and too slow to respond to steering in 2015, while Auto Bild Sportscars measured it eighth of nine in dry handling and last in straight aquaplaning in 2021. It finished eighth of 15 in the mixed-brand 2015 field, but eighth of nine in 2021, when it received a Not Recommended verdict.
Braking was the clearest exception to the pattern. Test World praised its short wet and dry stopping distances in 2015, whereas the 2021 wet braking result was an unusual 82.7 meters, last and 101.2% longer than the best. Dry braking was also eighth of nine in 2021, at 39.2 meters. There were some compensations: Test World praised the soft ride for absorbing road irregularities, and Auto Bild Sportscars recorded the lowest rolling resistance and joint or outright lowest noise measurement in its field, at 7.62 kg/t and 72 dB respectively.

2015 Test World Summer Tire Test
The Landsail LS588 UHP were surprisingly unbalanced. Braking in the wet was excellent, but handling very unstable. In addition, the tire copes worse than the others with emergency maneuvers and is quite susceptible to aquaplaning. On dry pavement they again quickly stopped the car, but had very slow response to steering. Lateral grip and stability are too weak for the optimal performance of a sharp maneuver at high speed. Because of their softness they demonstrated a high level of comfort, effectively absorbing road irregularities.
