The General Grabber HTS60 performed well in two Tire Reviews comparisons of different tire types, rather than broad fields of direct highway-tire rivals. It won the 2019 HT vs AT vs MT test, stopping shortest in the dry at 46 meters and in the wet at 59.3 meters. Wet handling was also fastest at 82.2 seconds, and the testers found it the most comfortable road option. In the 2020 HT vs AT vs MT vs Winter Tires on Snow test it finished second of five overall, with second places in snow braking and handling and the best noise score. The testers described its snow behavior as balanced and usable.
The limits were clear away from normal road use. In 2019 it was last of five for gravel handling and last of four for mud performance, although it remained capable on hard-packed dirt. Straight aquaplaning was third of four, 15.2% behind the best. In the 2020 snow comparison, traction was fourth of five, 23.1% behind the best, and ice braking third, 18.1% behind. It offered less confidence than the winter tire. The road-biased results and quiet ride are consistent with its highway role, but its overall wins and placings should be read in the context of these mixed-type fields.

The Grabber HTS60 won this test overall because it was clearly the best tire on the road. It stopped shortest in the wet and dry, was the fastest and most enjoyable in wet handling, and was the quietest and most comfortable. It was also far from hopeless off road, especially on hard dirt. If your SUV or pickup spends more than about 95% of its time on the road, this is the type of tire to fit.
